#23 Dopamine Unlocked — The Key to Motivation, Focus & Feeling Good!

from Double Dose of Wellness Podcast · host A&N Holistic Health

This week on the Double Dose of Wellness Podcast, we’re diving into the science of dopamine — the tiny brain chemical that makes a BIG difference in how motivated, focused, and energized you feel. Why do we sometimes feel unstoppable... and other days, totally stuck? Are you a dopamine seeker or a sustainer (and how does that shape your habits)? Plus, simple ways to naturally boost dopamine and get out of a rut! This episode is for every woman who’s juggling a busy life, chasing goals, and sometimes just needs a reset. We’ve got you! Grab your tea, get comfy! Here’s a 5-Question Dopamine & Motivation Self-Check to see if your dopamine levels and motivation might be out of balance: Rate each question on a scale of 1 to 5 (1 = Never, 5 = Always). 1. Do you find it hard to start tasks, even ones you know are important? 2.  Do you often seek quick dopamine hits (social media, junk food, shopping) but still feel unsatisfied? 3. Have things you used to enjoy started feeling dull or unexciting? 4. Do you feel stuck in a cycle of procrastination, waiting to "feel motivated" before acting? 5. Do you get easily distracted and struggle to focus on one task for an extended period? 5-10 points → Your dopamine & motivation levels seem balanced. Keep up the good habits! 11-17 points → Some signs of dopamine imbalance. Try reducing instant gratification and building small, consistent habits. 18-25 points → Likely dopamine burnout. Consider a dopamine reset (cutting overstimulation, focusing on deep work, and reintroducing natural rewards).
