Matt Myers, a native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, is a third-year DMA student in choral conducting at Louisiana State University. He earned his master’s degree in choral conducting from Northern Arizona University and his bachelor’s degree in vocal performance and music education from Luther College. After completing his degree at Luther, he taught grades 6-12 choir at The American International School of Muscat in Oman. For the following five years, he worked as choral director at Boylan Catholic High School in Rockford, Illinois, where he conducted five choirs and taught music theory, class piano, and critical thinking. He received the Boylan Edge Award for exemplary teaching in 2014 and NAU’s Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award in 2017. He has served as conductor of the NAU Men’s Chorale, the Master Chorale of Flagstaff, and the Troubadours of the Flagstaff Youth Chorale. At LSU, he has served as assistant conductor to the A Cappella Choir and Tiger Glee Club as well as office manager for the Choral Studies Division.
