23. God's Invincibility: He Cannot Be Overcome

Send us Fan MailMartin Luther wrote the well known hymn, “A Mighty Fortress.” We sing the first line: A mighty Fortress is our God, A Bulwark never failing;In this context, a bulwark refers to a defensive wall or strong fortification. The phrase “never failing” emphasizes that this defense is unfailing or reliable in every circumstance. Luther sought to illustrate God as a fortress and bulwark, symbolizing His protection and strength against spiritual adversaries. This imagery reflects biblical themes of God’s invincibility and steadfastness.  Psalm 24:8 (ESV) “Who is this King of glory? The Lord, strong and mighty, the Lord, mighty in battle!”Today we are looking at the Invincibility of God.
