Revelation 3:14-22 Since the 1900s, churches have shifted from vibrant revival to lukewarm, apathetic Christianity, as reflected in Revelation 3:14-22. Fundamentalism emphasized core doctrines to counteract Modernism, which introduced skepticism and reinterpretation of Scripture. New Evangelicalism sought broader engagement but often compromised on key doctrines. Internal issues like personality-driven ministries and critical spirits further weakened the church’s witness, blending worldly values with Christian beliefs and resulting in a lukewarm spiritual state similar to the church of Laodicea.
