23: Rick Cassman: The Rebirth of a 70s Rock and Roll Band: Straight Eight

It was a wild summer in 1976 in London. Rick Cassman and his band Straight Eight formed and would soon sign to Pete Townshend's Label 'Eel Pie Records.' Meanwhile, a younger rebellious punk crowd including Mick Jones and Sid Vicious was starting to transform Rock-n-Roll for the ages. Rick and the Straight Eight were in the thick of it all. They geared up for an upcoming tour in support of The Who, and then Keith Moon died. Rick was actually with Pete Townshend the day the news broke, and he shares the story on this show. Straight Eight would later go on tour in support of Queen in 1981, eventually disbanding and parting ways a few years later. Today, Straight Eight is defying all odds. They have reunited for a new album and tour, and most importantly- to finish what they started. Highly entertaining and inspirational, Rick Cassman takes us back to the 70s and spills it all, including his experiences at the Jimi Hendrix and Pink Floyd shows at the Royal Albert Hall.
