Winning the seat from from former Prime Minister Tony Abbott in 2019. Zali is also Australia's most successful alpine skier, winning bronze in slalom at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, plus a World Championship gold medal in 1999. She is Australia's first individual medalist, first female medalist, and only medalist in alpine skiing. With a BA in communications and media Zali then studied law, becoming a solicitor.
