#233: Brendan Buckley (Part 2)

from The insuleoin Podcast - Redefining Diabetes

Part 2 of Eoin's chat with Brendan Buckley.Brendan is from Cork, Ireland, and was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 15, back in 2000. 6 years after his Diabetes diagnosis, he was diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease.Brendan’s Crohn’s disease didn’t cause him too many issues as he “only had to take some medication in the morning to manage it”.When everything in Brendan’s life seemed to be going well; the birth of his first child, buying his first home with his wife, he was then unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 3 Colon Cancer in 2023.Brendan’s story is one of unimaginable pain, worry, and sadness - but how he shares it, and how he survived it can only offer us an opportunity to really appreciate our health, the simple parts of life, and what we have around us.As always, be sure to rate, comment, subscribe and share. Your interaction and feedback really helps the podcast. The more Diabetics that we reach, the bigger impact we can make!Questions & Stories for the Podcast?:[email protected], Learn & Work with Eoin:https://linktr.ee/insuleoin Hosted on Acast.
