Is it possible to have great energy without any conflict? Inattention breeds mischief. To know when you are inattentive is to be attentive. Only when effort ceases is there an unbounding energy inwardly so that the mind remains crystal clear and can tackle any problem. We need energy and energy is wasted when there is conflict. Out of silence there is understanding, not out of chattering. As long as there is demand for pleasure there must be conflict. Meditation is clarity and silence. That very silence is discipline, not discipline in order to achieve silence.
