He is the founder and CEO of Paper Street Pictures, a film production company in Austin, Texas. Koontz is the writer, director and producer behind The Pale Door, the Scare Package franchise, and Camera Obscura. As a producer Koontz has also worked on Old Man, The Artifice Girl, and Shelby Oaks. More recently Koontz is the showrunner, producer, writer and director, along with Luke Boyce, of the SyFy television adaptation of Revival based on the comic book series created by writer Tim Seeley and artist Mike Norton.
