237 - The Black Phone (2021) Review
from The Final Podcast · host The Final Podcast
When a young boy is kidnapped and locked in a basement, amidst a string of child disappearances, he beings to receive calls from the killer's previous victims from a dead phone. The Black Phone is an ominous movie that takes place in the late 70s and gives the tone that a serial killer is striking. Ethan Hawke plays a deeply disturbed killer known as "The Grabber" who drives around in a black van, kidnapping young boys, and bringing them down into his basement. Hawke is very creepy in his role and it's clear that his character has so much more going on than what is shown on-screen and the film keeps the audience guessing. While the movie isn't perfect, it's an entertaining thriller with a solid ending. Watch the movie and catch our review.
