#239 - Race Play: Profitable or Problematic? with Savannah
from Stripped by SIA Hosted by STEPH SIA
This week, we dive into a deep conversation with Savannah, a South Asian sex worker, about the complexities of race play in the sex work industry. They explore Savannah's journey from being a full-service sex worker to a cam model, the intersection of art and sex work, and the cultural perspectives surrounding sex work, particularly for people of colour. The discussion also delves into the profitability and problematic nature of race play, highlighting the nuances and challenges faced by sex workers in navigating their identities and the demands of their clients. We discuss the performative aspects of roles, the dynamics of power in domination and submission, and the necessity of healthy detachment from their work personas. The conversation emphasizes the significance of self-care, setting boundaries, and the ability to say no, while also encouraging clients to explore their sexuality in a safe and respectful manner.
