Hoping to create calmer, more peaceful atmospheres on campus, schools around California turned off their bell systems and let students figure out when class starts the old-fashioned way: by looking at a clock, err their phones. At the same time the school dropped bells, it also shifted the start time to 9 a.m. and made other changes to create a “more relaxed, less stressful atmosphere. No not every school is like this, but the decline of our school system began and will end with concepts such as this. I know.
