畫說漢字/圖解《說文解字》/1000個漢字的故事/東漢許慎抱（bào）“抱”字是一个形声字，其本义是用手臂围住。在小篆文中，其字形左边是一只手，代表字义；右边为“包”，代表字音。因为用手臂围住呈环绕之势，所以“抱”字后来引申为“环绕”之义。“抱”字还通“保”，意思是保护、爱护。此外，“抱”字用作名词，是“胸怀”“理想”的意思，如“某某有很大的人生抱负”。（用手臂环绕，以这种爱护之心为基础产生了抱负。）
