24.16 Testing of surge protection

NPR 1014 is a Dutch code of practice that provides additional information and explanations to the international standard NEN-EN-IEC 62305 series for lightning protection. The guideline, written in Dutch, focuses on the Dutch practical situation, in particular on the use of meshed external lightning protection. The document specifies details on the design, installation and inspection of lightning protection systems, with special attention to the risk assessment and economic consideration of the necessity thereof, as well as specific guidelines for buildings with explosion or fire hazard. The guideline serves as a guideline for the application of the NEN-EN-IEC 62305 series and supplements the details that are missing in the international standard, while at the same time preserving Dutch knowledge and experience in this field.
