24.16: What is Apostasy in the Christian Church and How Can it Be Stopped?

from Seeking the Gospel Truth · host Giselle Aguiar

My interest in Christian church history started  after taking several Bible study classes. I wondered, how did we get  from the church that started in Acts 2 to what we have today? See, growing up Catholic, I was deprived of studying the Bible and the truth about the Salvation of Jesus Christ. After being a prodigal for about 17 years, I wandered into a very Progressive church (UCC) not knowing any better. At that time, I was trying to  figure out the difference between all the denominations. At first, I  thought it had to do with how each one worshiped God compared to the Roman Catholic Church and didn’t really pay attention to the teachings. I didn’t know that  what I was hearing was a twisted, watered-down Gospel. In fact, it  wasn’t the Gospel of Jesus Christ at all. Since I became born again and was baptized 15 years ago, I’ve learned the truth. I also learned that to be able to resist the temptations of culture, I had to immerse myself in God’s World every single day. I  have to start and end each day with God. Besides that, I’ve learned to  rely on the Holy Spirit as my warning beacon, my internal deception monitor to stop me from  watching, reading or listening to false teachings. And, friend, the  false teachings are EVERYWHERE! What is Apostasy?.... Keep reading in my blog where there are links to dig deeper and watch the special music video at the bottom…. Jesus said, “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” ~ ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬ - This phrase is repeated 14 times in scripture. Kind of gives the idea that God wants us to pay attention.  If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then… Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.  Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly… “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.” Jesus is coming back soon! Are you ready?
