24.17: How Jesus Takes the 10 Commandments and Wraps them into 2 Great Ones

In Matthew 22:35-36, an “expert in religious law” asked Jesus,  “Teacher, which is the most important commandment in the law of Moses?”  Jesus replies with 2 Great Commandments. He actually is takes the  original 10 Commandments, given by God to humans through Moses, and sums  them up into 2. They both center around relationships… Between people and God Between one another Let’s see how the 10 Commandments fit nicely into these two  categories. We’ll start with the first one that covers Commandments 1-4  and tomorrow we’ll cover 5-10. Let’s begin with Jesus’ summary of part  1… Keep reading in my blog where there are links to dig deeper and watch the special music video at the bottom…. Jesus said, “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” ~ ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭3:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬ - This phrase is repeated 14 times in scripture. Kind of gives the idea that God wants us to pay attention.  If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then… Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit.  Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly… “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.” Jesus is coming back soon! Are you ready?
