Good morning, good afternoon and good evening to wherever you are. You are listening to the All Talk Card podcast. Today's podcast, we're going to do a special behind the scenes, what happened in Victoria. Hi, it's Ian.
I've got Ross and Hill with us tonight. Good evening. Good morning, good afternoon, good evening. He's got a down pat.
That's tagline. Tagline. So, yeah, it was a great day. It was a great, great response.
Thank you for all your comments and... Oh, great interviews and I think we might have to do another one. We could have packed some more in. We didn't get around to it, we just ran out of time.
It was funny, we all met up at the airport, like a bunch of school kids going to the schedule. First time I was down on a plane. We all sat in different spots. I get the lady says to me, you've got the emergency exit row, but not the row with the legroom.
And I've got the... LAUGHTER So, what happens to my seats? If I haven't got the legroom, how's an emergency exit? It was not, you just sit on the wing.
You're like on that, do you want the wing? You're like, I've got my seats up. The way I look at it. I mean, true.
It was not the way it was. So, what was there? What was it like a fake exit? No, behind me was the pizza room.
Was that? Yeah, so I don't know what role I had. I told her I wasn't pregnant. You're in the wrong emergency exit.
I don't know what they did. Well, I got on the plane. I got an emergency exit seat with the proper legroom. And they come in and do the talk and the lady says, the hostie says, you know, in an emergency are you willing and able to help?
But another lady sitting next to me, quite like a whole lady and she was sitting there. And she was nodding and she's, yes, that's not a problem. Yeah, very polite. And the guy sitting next to her was asleep.
And the lady says, oh, if you could just read through the brochure, you know, just if there is an emergency. And she puts the brochure, and I'm sort of in the seat, she's got like a seat pocket in the front of her. And she turns to me, she says, if this plane goes down, I'm not fucking helping anybody. I'm sorry.
I was kind of stuck on the window. I didn't know anything. I couldn't turn to it. And so I'm sorry, she goes, do you really think they're going to say anything if I don't help anyone?
I got no, if there's an emergency, I think she goes, I'll be pushing you out of the way. All right, let's go. Let's go put my U5 on. I think it's my turn.
I was this Ross. One. One. So that's actually not a good seat.
So it's stuck up against the window. Yeah. I have different world at Row 1. On just that.
It's like, it's like. I got a middle say, what if he asked me? Who were you between? Yeah, football was late.
I shot up. Pretty much. I had a down-the-line one side. I was like, I'll be given a down-the-line one side.
I had some heat when he came on back from the main ground on the other side. Right? So it was obvious that they probably used AirPig or someone's couch the night before and headed straight to the airport. They caused he, she, something in between.
It's stuck. Really? Stuck ripped. We can smell that.
Right. I was going to open the emergency exit. No. No.
It's a picture of all the mollogas these bitches are going to throw me out of the plane. It's a little bit right. Half your luck. Anyway, so we got down all right.
Good then. Got there. And we walk across to the budget. I'm on the time back and they say, I'm going to make a call.
Well, the guy pulled me back and said, there's a tanker there. And he goes, I didn't see it. I just walked straight past it. And he carried down his bags.
He's not coming next time. So we walked across the budget and I booked the Commodore. I've never driven the new Commodore's. I was keen to see what they're like.
They're not there. We'll go to the road this time. Yeah, it was a bit of room for all of us. So the guy goes, oh, Mr.
Rodders, you qualify for an upgrade. Would you like a wild track? And the person was looking at me like, we heard it. Is that what she meant?
And I looked at the guys and said, the you know what? Well, I thought it was that. Hold on the station wagon thing. No, they're going to do it.
And I'm thinking the next day I'm going to drive the Phillip Island. I'm not driving in a U. And I said, so is this some kind of orbit that keeps the thing? She's no, no, it's an upgrade.
I'm like, nah, anything else? So I ended up with the clock up. The clue was that bad. I mean, the button for the electric boot didn't work.
Couldn't find the button. There's no button. The ugly glisten. And the boot slides downwards.
So I had a problem. So all these two falls out. Yeah. So that's probably because of the seven seats.
Wouldn't it? I did check it. Yeah, so it was a car. I was going to fill up on the next day.
I'll have more of that later on. But it was not bad. It's not bad set up. We then drove through Melbourne to Cromore, those of you who are basically in Melbourne, to the Carri Vice Officers.
Yeah, when it's all in. And we're going to create crazy set of cars down the street. Which we didn't see. Coffee guys got these four-hour-hour pister and the...
What else was in them? McLaren and what else was in them? Just made out of McLaren. Just in the back lane.
The cafe's everywhere. And we turned up with two dozen donuts. We feed the crew down there. We feed them.
And thanks Paul again. That was a great interview and we had a great response. So it makes a difference. We got a professional in the podcast.
That's just three clamps. I really thought we were going to drag him down to where I live. He brought us up. He brought us up.
He brought us up. He brought us up. He brought us up. He took a couple of times.
I thought I was talking at one stage. He took it up. He put it up. He put it up.
And then he got to the Bugatti. He just fucked us up. I know. Dan's talking about the A12 superfast in Italy.
He was great. I've been looking at like higher... You can hire these cars. Okay.
You can hire it for R. He's looking at the day trip. The pricing is quite interesting. It's sold to the pricing.
It's a 70-year-old. It looks like good value. Or kilometer. Oh, okay.
Four kilometers or five minutes. Which ever comes from a 70 euro. And then it went all the way through. I think the longest was 30 hours.
It's almost like I got a European. So I've got a yes we do. And I looked at some German prices. You can hire it for five days.
Five series of behemoths. It's $12. We're in Munich in Germany. Really?
Time it all's cheap. And a combination. I'm going to hand with it. That's later on.
But no. So that was an interesting story to point. I, while we're on heart and cars, all of us are dropping out of the office weight for hierarchy. So I got a little car.
No one car. So, it's not on my policy. I always take that box. I get $50 a week.
I'm taking that box. So, do you get a clear? Yeah. I've always been, I've always got my fault thing.
Equival car. I think you do like it. Well, track. No, that's a bit of a accident.
That's it. In a bad spot. It's in a hot house. Yeah, accident.
How long? I'm trying to get rid of car. So I rang around. So I said, I need to cover basically, you know, two weeks.
What? $1,500. We were in the car. We were in the car.
We were in the car. So, all right. OK. I've got a lot.
I actually got a lot more cars. You've got two cars. I've got two cars just over there. No, I've got two cars just over there.
Goal three. No, that's because of the car. I know that's what I've been on. No, that's what I've been on.
No, that's what. I've got two cars. Get those things out. You've got two cars.
You've got two cars. You've got two cars. That's $2,000. You're going to make fifty dollars.
Sorry. You're supposed to bring it back at eight o'clock. It's nine o'clock. with the Trinter in terms.
That's what they say. I don't know what they say. I'm not going to say that. No, no, no, no.
These kids have you rotaries and rotaries. Yeah, those rotaries now. You can build them. I can't pay.
So now, did you get a rental car? No, I was going to try them. I was going to do a long-term rotary. Funny you should say that.
Did you get one? No. So, I was looking at what, in the end, Joe, I was kind enough to delay my car going into the end of April because... What are you doing?
I'll have a car. I'll have a car in the fleet, by the way. Okay, then I can do this. I was if they said no, I'd found a car.
I'm in submission later. Oh, the answer is later. I was not having one of those. I was going to go back in the day.
Yeah, 400 bucks. 300 bucks for Regioe, right? I was just going to buy the win. I was just going to buy the win.
I was just going to buy the win. You'll probably get 500 bucks. 500 bucks back in two wins anyway. Just drop it on a record.
Just make it out of a record. Get out of a... So, I'll do that. Two week coming out.
Two week coming out. Yeah. So, I'm not calling off here. So, I think that Joe were calling enough to delay on front of day.
So, I had a couple of days. I was talking about renting cars and borrowing cars. I'm not being used to go. This guy, I don't know.
This guy, my friend of mine. Inverted comments. He was moving from Strathas to other stuff. Like I said, it was.
And he was really like... He had trucks and whatever. He needed a U. So, he went to Volkswagen and said, hey, can't borrow.
Or can't test drive. Can't test drive. A amoroc. They just come out.
Yeah, sure. No problem. I'm looking at buying a few of them. Can I borrow it?
Maybe I have a knife? Not a problem. So, parked. He parked his car there.
He took the amoroc. Did he move it? Did he move it? Did he move it?
Put it. It did all the moving till all that. Then called them on the afternoon to say that, you know, I couldn't get back there. You might have been back on Monday.
Did all the moving on the Sunday. And dropped the back there. I have a little bit more. I'll have a little bit more.
I'll have a little bit more. I'll be in the car. I'll be in the car. I'll be in place.
Couldn't get down the drive. So, from after the car invites, we moved to the garage. What a place. We still talk about that.
It's been a while now since we've been down there. And we still rave on about how good that place. That's how it must be. I think it compares a lot in my opinion.
I think it's a lot better than Gossett. Gossett have more cars, but this is just quality. We're only 6'0 Lexus LFA in one place. We should have got it.
You know. Everyone was so nice. It wasn't like you were imposing. It was the Super-American.
I think it was like 6'0 in Australia. There was an F50 there. There were cars in the corner. There were only 2 extra 220, so.
Yeah. I'm sorry about when I was in the eight-late. He was a bit dug by Ray Hone. Good eight dug.
We were trying to get in contact with him. I want to know where there was someone. A rich guy. Sorry, how?
He got hit in the back of Kings Cross Tunnel. It was 20 grand damages from a bump on a nudge. I want to know where all these other cars were at Darlons. When we went there.
I want the Facebook page. There was a downstairs section that was right there. We didn't have to get any of the 20 grand. No, no, no.
I'm not. I'm not. I'm not. They're all over Facebook.
We got too much. There was the cafe too. It was nice food there. If you go to Melbourne, you want to go somewhere and check out some cool cars?
You have to go to London. Because I remember when I went to London, it received the sun. The vending machine was the sun. So that was a good couple of hours in Darlon Garage.
Then the trip went to the legal centre of Melbourne. We visited chambers of QC. Thank you, Remy, for letting us use his room. He celebrated his 50 years of being admitted to the bar.
We gave him a nice bottle too. It's nice to like him. He'd let us use his rooms to speak to Tony about the Ivy company and the work they do with assessing vehicles and insurance companies. That was a good way to end the day.
I think about that all right. It really is. You can think about it. It really is a valuable tool for anyone buying a car.
Like Tony said, the statistic that freaked me out was every year there's a 10% chance it's been in an accident. So every year you add a 10%. So a 3-year-old car would have 30% chance it would have been in an accident. He records a 10-year-old car that has definitely been in an accident.
When you think about that statistic, it's quite true. How long have you had your rent free from? You're listening here. That's another 3 for another car.
The thing those accidents are that a lot of people bought all the cars for kids and what Tony said. Or as a commuter car, you can't leave the car with a car that's translation on the street. Some of these cars have been repaired. People know the difference.
They're looking under the lid to make it all right. They don't know where to look. It looks new. Some of them have done.
I don't understand. I don't understand. I always say people with black wheels have scratched their eyes. They're right.
Yeah. They're already black. They're already black. I remember that.
In the early 90s, my parents bought a Pols Not triple S. They were all white with the white mags. They were a bitch that cute white. White mags.
We had the white mags in the early 90s triple S. I'll do that on the M3. The last couple cars I had, the mags had been black or dark. You don't have to wash them.
They're black ones. Yeah, just like them. Great. Fourth scrape in 20 years.
That's another story for another 4 cars. Anyway, I dropped the guys off at the airport and I had an extra day on my own in Melbourne. Went to the Phillip Island. Went to the BMW driving experience.
Hey, let's just have a Tony back a bit. I don't know what happened here. He wanted an earlier. Oh my god.
So he's walking into the terminal. He's always trying to book to say, I think it was 45 minutes. Right? Okay.
So 55 minutes. He saved. On paper. On paper.
So he's trying to book this. And finally, I got all over the place for Ross. Finally, right? He disappears.
Right? That's a lot. So later, next minute, you know Ross is calling us hey, what are you guys? He's coming back.
I'm back on the same floor. And then he's back on again. Then he disappeared again. So, Row one.
What do you know? No, she'd say. No, I got only Virgin Flight. And then they delayed the flight.
So I'm like, hey, I'll just pay for an earlier flight. It's going to go back to me later than these guys. I want to have to get some of this. This is what I've got a Jetstar ticket, which is leaving it at 8 o'clock.
830. And I've got this one here that's leaving it at quarter past 7. I'll just pay for this ticket. She's like, I know, right?
She got me on the quarter past 7 o'clock. But the flight that I booked had been delayed to after the flight. I'm talking about the next day. I got up at 5am the next morning.
It was a two hour drive. Yeah, I had dinner with some friends. And no, no, I'm just going to drive two hours to the only vehicle in the field of Ireland. It's a two hour drive out of Melbourne.
Is it actually an island? It's an island. Yeah, you cross the bridge. And it's funny, on the way back, there's a blue line where they make an extra lane.
So when they're growing three fishes, there's two lanes heading out. Okay. But it's on one lane each way, type right. So I think you said it was like a jump.
You drive over a bridge and jump out. No, no, it's an island. It's like an arabridged. So we get there, so I have to get there by 8 o'clock.
And then the old man does the spiel and safety first. It's very helmet. Yeah. So this is the first lap we get in.
They put it in M240Eis, those coops, the two doors. Nice cap. Good little car. I was in car number two in the grey group.
So you've got the instructor in M3, a golden three. Then you've got car one, two and three, I mean car two. And then what happens is vice-viperself. We're there.
And I'll see you be radio in the door parking. And then the driver is the instructor at the front telling you, you know, the witch's hats. And you're like, you're fine. Well, there's a music issue.
No, no, no. But I did put it on the map. Like on PlayStation, you follow the map. No, no, no.
You don't. We do one like a lap to about 80 to 100. And he goes, there's the view of the ocean. You're not going to say that again today.
And he was right. Why? Because you don't. You're looking for witches hats and corners and apexes.
So after the one wrecking lap, the instructor's guns it. And we're like going full line. I left it in sport. They don't want to touch power shift up there on.
I didn't know the track. I learned it. And down the main stripe in the end. The M240Eis, the M240Eis, the M160Eis down the main street.
Because the first corner is a fast coin into a hairpin. So you'll be really careful where you put the car on the track. The M240Eis, I thought, what a beautiful little car. You have a 90 grand.
Yeah, but I'm the option. And then you get in the M240Eis competition. And that is just like for an extra 10, they're like a 110, 120 grand. You buy into.
Mate, it's just a. How's it compared to the M240Eis? Well, we get to the M240Eis, we'll get to the M240Eis. So the M240Eis is the M240Eis.
The M240Eis is the M240Eis. But because it's got a smaller body, it's a lot twitcher. So you had to really think about taking the corners. You could feel the arse twitching around.
The instructor then says it's because of my steering. It wasn't smooth. Or whatever you know. It was my fourth lap.
I knew what was coming up around the corner. And down the main straight, 210. 210. This thing was flying.
But an easy 210 or a hard two. And then when I got to the turn one, I just kept it flat. And then it turned two. This thing just slid on the steer on the cross.
So you had no traction control. But the APEC, now you're leaving sport mode. That's what they told us. Which is before.
It's no raise mode. And then we get in the M4. And the M4 is a step above, not so much in power, but in handling. Is it?
It's a little bit more. It's a little bit more. It's a little bit more. It's a little bit more.
It's a little bit more. It's a little bit more. It's a little bit more. No raise mode.
Then we get in the M4. And the M4 is a step above, not so much in power, but in handling. Is it? Because it's a bigger, wider car, bigger tires.
So you don't have that nervousness of twitchiness. So what happens is you get cocky and confident. So you're pulling in more speed in the corners. And that's when you get yourself into trouble in those M4s.
We're going to about 215 on the straight. And then at the end of the day, we're getting the hot lap. The first lap is going to be 230 down the straight. It's just a standard M3.
The only amendment said done. The only changes are done to the car. No, no. The brakes.
The brake lines. The brake lines. And it's a road car. You get a hot lap, you've got a 230 down the straight.
I was in the front seat. I could see. And the second lap, he then started drifting through a chip in. Oh, well, who was in struck?
Oh, Corry's name. So you got a little bit of a bonder really well. Yeah, yeah, yeah. He gets away from that.
He goes right there. He goes right there. Your car number two. But not only did we do it last, we also did a skip hand.
I have a, we're in the M4s. Did you do the, so you do a hairpin corner. And you learn how to slide it out. You learn how to slide it out.
You learn how to slide it out. You guys learn how to track it on. You can feel the front brake supply so you can turn around. And then you guys are out, track it off, hold the button down for two, three seconds.
And you just, that'd be excellent. At this time, you're doing 360s. Like whoever drives on roads without traction control on these nuts. How did it used to do in the old days?
It was not around 31 kilowatts coming through the engine. That's how it was through a carbon. Well, think about it. And I'll hit you back.
So even in the late 90s, the top of the range, which is 30, was at 250 kilowatts. It's not even. Right? In the late 90s.
Mid 90s was 250. The VRPS. Yes. The VRPT came out with the first of the shed motors, the LS1.
It was 220 kilowatts and 250. What year was that? Now you got an, well, the VRPS. 25 kilowatts.
25 kilowatts. No, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no, no. So you think pretty good a bit years ago.
The 250 kilowatts tops. The G-A-J's are good too. The G-A-J's that rolls out of the showrooms last year from HSB was 435. Really?
That's a good show. What role are they out of the showroom this year? How much better? Nothing.
Well, the Z01 camera just rolled out of the VRPS. Nothing. Not out of Australia, but still. But with the M2, what is it?
300 and something kilowatts, is it? The competition? Yeah, 320. So 320.
So 320. So we have 40. 50%. How does that compare to like a C63 or a C63?
The C63 is about 360. Oh, yeah, but they're not as talky as the big dumb sort of turbo. Yeah. So it's a C63?
Yeah. It's a full-in of turbo. I'll do it. I'll do it.
I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll do it.
I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll do it. I'll do it.
So they timed us. We did two runs each, the M2 and the Mini. At the end of the day, they think the top runs are top at the end to. And the Mini was only 200th of a second.
Two taps at the second slow and then the M2. Wow. So it's not going to do the power. Yeah.
It's all about carrying that into through the chicanes. That was great. And then we did the AGS braking test. So you hit around the bus.
The first one went right through the wheelchair sets. That's it? Well, you're looking like a red light. No, you're gonna hit the bus.
So was there any one on it? No, no, no. So you follow your eyes. It's true.
And then guys that have accidents or racetracks hitting the one tree is because I was looking at it. Yeah, the back to the tree and then you know where they go. Sorry about the pause, but I didn't realise they are studio head of middle roof. We didn't know that.
It was pouring me around. So that's right. But yeah, so basically what we learned is you drive in your eyes and then then there's something out into this morning. What's happened during the week, Will?
Will I come back from Victoria? I'll change the batteries in these car remote control. I didn't. No.
I didn't. Well, I have to because I'm probably trying to back to Aadi during the service to get it down and they didn't do it. But you get to do it. I didn't know we were able to do it.
They do it annually at the service. It's annually for a battery. Full of bucks for a battery. True or so, man.
That last forever. That rabbit goes 100 miles an hour. So I've got an idea. What's that?
I've got an idea. Right? So we say one of these reviews online. Yes.
Okay. We've done. I'll look further into it. I don't see one with like kids in cars.
Right? Why can you review a car short term review? How? We can keep.
How kids aren't allowed to drive cars. No, but you take the kids with you like, keep in the back seat. How is it worth the kids? Proper reviews.
Not all. You know, you do say these reviews and they don't want to battle on this. plenty of room for kids. You found a nation.
So I think I found a nation. I'm going to borrow all these press cars and pull our kids in it. And they can destroy the like yogurt on the ceiling and everything. You're aiming at families.
You know, seven, six, five, six, whatever. S U V. So. To the back door.
Yes. Do they not? Range Rover. Can I borrow a lever now?
Baby six. Yes. At what point can your four year old relentlessly kick the back of your seat when you're driving? Oh, yeah.
We just got to the back door. So how much leg room is in the back to get him to stop him kicking you? So he's driving a seat was tilted because he's trying to pull his driver seat to ask him a question. Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. So, so I reckon the first thing I'm going to do is see if Lamborghini will lemme your horse. The one in the family you can buy your yellow horse. Yes.
That'll test the score of the kids. Yep. We can we hit the high end first, the Bentley Bank Tiger. The Rolls Royce.
I saw a Rolls Royce. We'll get a QA. No, I like it. So the new QA is a great car.
I saw a QA in C not, but it's a nice car. It's a nice car. S Q seven. It's a real S 63.
Yes, these are all things which, you know, that it could work. I think we're going to take your kids out. We'll take my, they're on field. They're on field.
You'll take your cinnocetis. Yeah. So far, can you do this? Yes.
Might keep the round field. They will tell you. And field figure. Oh, yeah.
Yeah. These are. Yeah. They'll tell you what they want.
I'll tell you how I picked up these kids after they came out. And he had the drawing they do. He scratched it up and threw it back over the fence. He's like, no, no, no.
There's no doing that. It says no. That's good. That's good.
Sorry. Well, I picked them up this afternoon. And the little one says, Daddy. Daddy.
I don't know. Yes. How was it? Yes.
And carries those plastic toy tools around with everything. Most kids have got a teddy bear as their safety, like their, their, their, their. I just want to have her on a screwdriver. You've got to have her on a screwdriver.
