Alla vigilia dei 150 anni dell’Unità, il racconto storico e la visione dell’Italia che ebbe Garibaldi. Ligure, visse quattro anni a Costantinopoli e diciotto in Sud America, fece il marinaio in Tunisia, il corsaro in Brasile e l’operaio a New York. Mazziniano, socialista e anticlericale, fu condannato a morte per cospirazione. Ebbe tre diversi nomi di guerra, “Cleombroto”, “Joseph Pane” e “Borrel”, per sfuggire alla polizia o per arruolarsi in incognito. E’ l’unico italiano degli ultimi secoli di cui si possa dire tranquillamente che fu un grandissimo generale. L’Italia, unificata da lui, finse di onorarlo con vie, piazze e monumenti, e ignorò tacitamente tutti i valori per cui si era battuto; contrariamente a un luogo comune, in questo paese parlar male di Garibaldi è facilissimo, come dimostra l’odio cieco che si scatena contro di lui sul web.Giuseppe Garibaldi, l’eroe dei due mondi, raccontato dal prof.
