En este 18 de septiembre el tradicional Te Deum Ecuménico regresó a la Catedral Metropolitana. Allí las máximas autoridades del país escucharon el mensaje del Arzobispo de Santiago. En su homilía el Cardenal Celestino Aós encomendó el trabajo de los Convencionales Constituyentes y dio gracias por aquellos que protegen "los valores no negociables" dijo. Allí abogó por la defensa de la vida y el matrimonio entre un hombre y una mujer. Un mensaje que generó reacciones justo en medio del debate en el Congreso del proyecto de matrimonio igualitario que impulsa el Gobierno. Esta y otras noticias fueron revisadas por Andrés Vial.
