24 July 2019: Alaska ferry strike

On 24 July 2019 ferry workers in Ketchikan, Alaska, walked out on strike as part of a contract dispute during the busiest time of year.Around 400 members of the Inlandboatmen’s Union of the Pacific rejected a new one-year contract which included a wage freeze.
