ПОШЁЛ дождь - Look! It has started to rain Смотри! ПОШЁЛ снег - it has started to snow PAST ИДТИ Past simple: Вчера ШЁЛ дождь - It rained yesterday Past continuous: Вчера ШЁЛ дождь весь день - Yesterday it was raining all day long. Я ШЁЛ на работу и разговаривал по телефону - I was going home and I was talking on the phone. Я ШЁЛ домой и неожиданно встретил своего друга. - I was going home and suddenly I had met a friend of mine ПОЙТИ Past Perfect (or “beginning of the action”) Вчера когда мы вышли на улицу ПОШЁЛ дождь - It started to rain when we’d gone out.
