#242 Facebook is Still Not Dead

from More than a Few Words · host Lorraine Ball

From our archive: About 18 months ago, Allison and I debated whether Facebook was on the way out.  We agreed that even though people were spending less time on Facebook it still had a place in the marketing mix of many small businesses. We talked about the shifting demographics and user behavior, the addition of hashtags, the overuse of ads and most importantly, what all these changes mean to small business owners. Show highlights:  Facebook is a victim of its own success. More than 60% of people in the US and 90% of young Americans have Facebook accounts, there is little room for larger market share. The average time on site on site is still more than six hours a month. The audience is still engaged.  As a business owner, engage with this community on a personal level. Facebook is a backyard barbecue where you can earn business by sharing the human side of your business. Want to learn more? Listen to the entire program.
