On February 24, 1986, the body of 29 year-old Sherri Rasmussen was found in the apartment she shared with her new husband, John Ruetten, in Van Nuys, California. She had been beaten and shot three times. The (LAPD) initially thought the case was a botched burglary with no suspects.  But Sherri's father believed that Ruetten’s ex (Stephanie Lazarus), was responsible, but was it really that simple?
