This is the daily benefit with Dr. Chokes, starting your day right with the super short Devotional Award class. Hey guys, today's reading is taken from Proverbs chapter 3 verse 5. Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding.

So let me ask you a question. Do you find it easy to trust? Or do you have trust issues? We've all been through situations that have led us to question our faith in people.

The honest truth is, people let down. Humans are flawed and aren't perfect. We can't as much as we think we can fully rely on any human that we know. Now this isn't to make us paranoid or skeptical of everyone.

It's just the fact that we're imperfect, sinful and in need of saving. But as Christians, fortunately for us, we have someone who we can put 100% of our trust in. Someone who we can rely on. Today's verse says that we should trust in the Lord and nothing else, not even our own understanding.

And this is hard to do sometimes because often we feel like our own understanding of things is right. In verse 6 from today's chapter, it says that we should trust him to be able to show us which path to take. In verse 9 it says that we need to trust God with our finances. It says honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce.

In verse 11 it says that we need to trust God when he corrects and disciplines us. Just as any good parent does, it says, my child, don't reject the Lord's discipline and don't be upset when he corrects you. In verse 24 it says that we should trust God's protection. And this is especially powerful given the terrible times we're in.

It says you can go to bed without fear, you will lie down and sleep soundly, you won't be afraid of sudden disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the Lord is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap. So today let's take a bold step and trust I have any father, even when things around us look like I shouldn't. Pray with me, Lord, thank you for your ever faithfulness.

Thank you that I can fully rely on you. Thank you that your fault free and I can trust in you. In Jesus' name.
