247: The Power of Being Human with Dr. Fred Moss

from Break Your Bullsh*t Box

Today's guest: Dr. Fred MossDr. Fred Moss is a graduate of Northwestern University Medical School and a licensed psychiatrist who has served the mental health industry for nearly four decades. During that time he has consulted patients, practitioners, medical facilities, non-profit organizations, and community groups. While his initial interest in psychiatry was to expand on communication and human connections as primary healing tools, a shift in the medical paradigm in the 80’s led to physicians diagnosing patients with biological and chemical imbalances, and prescribing medications as a primary way of dealing with life’s distress. The medications, which on occasion seemed to briefly quell the stated concerns, appeared to be exacerbating—even causing—the symptoms they were prescribed to treat. On this episode:Amber is joined by Dr. Fred Moss for a discussion on the mental health coaching, the benefits of telehealth, and leading with authenticity.Tweetable Quotes:"If you create a space for radical listening, a tremendous amount of progress can be made." -Dr. Fred Moss"I've heard people in therapy say they're taking action because 'they don't have a choice'... it's not true. Many people do not make the choice to take the necessary action." -Amber Fuhriman"We've all expierenced discomfort. When we can reset and just be with people, we can open up again, start from zero, and be curious." -Dr. Fred MossDr. Fred Moss:https://welcometohumanity.nethttps://www.instagram.com/drfredmosshttps://truevoicepodcasting.comIf you are interested in connecting with Amber, send an email to [email protected] with other incredible people looking to break out of the corporate mindset by joining the More Than Corporate Facebook group: http://bit.ly/2MuWn53Schedule a connection call with Amber: https://calendly.com/amberfuhriman/connection-call?month=2021-05 Hosted on Acast.
