248/365 How to adapt a beautiful song (Spring song Vasanteri agamane) to Kiirtan

Its so fascinating to study the structure of Rarhi kiirtan (North east India) as it provides a model for anyone who want to adapt a devotional song to kiirtan. They take a devotional song and adapt it to their kiirtans using the traditional rhythms for example.  To keep the original melody as well as the rhythms of the songs intact while adapting it to the kiirtan is very important I feel. But theres also scope for improvisation, elaboration and embellishment of the original melody in the kiirtan. I am at the very beginning stages adapting Prabhat Samgiit songs to Kiirtan but  its very exciting, and I feel so blessed to have studied Rarhi Kiirtan as its so helpful.  I end by singing Vasanteria agamane kiirtan.
