This week I’m talking to Chelsea Haden.

Chelsea’s handle (if that’s the right word) on Insta is loving life in wellies and it looks like that’s certainly what she’s doing! Scrolling through her insta there’s loads I want to ask her about…her gorgeous SUPing Labrador for starters. There’s lots of walking, woods, water and of course yoga, all in the fantastic backdrop of the Welsh wilds of north Wales. Chelsea is based in the Ceiriog valley (not really sure where that is but I’ll find out) and is teaching a mix of indoor classes as well as outdoor yoga sessions over the summer. Like many of us, Chelsea is moving back to in person classes so I’ll be asking her how she feels about that now that we are slowly coming out of restrictions.

She also combines guided walking and wild swimming with yoga for her retreats so I’ll find out more about her love of walking and swimming (as well as kayaking and SUP), her favourite places to go and her passion for sharing yoga, walking and swimming with others.

It’s clear that Chelsea is fond of slow and seasonal living, but also embracing the outdoors and the associated adventures that come with that so I’ll be asking what that combination means in reality and the impact of that ethos or way of living has on her day to day life. She’s also got a menagerie of pets including her lab, a cat and some chickens. I want to know if and how they all get along…!

Born and raised in urban Manchester I’ll ask Chelsea what her childhood was like and then what city life was like for her in her late teens and early 20s. How did she make the transition to a completely different pace of life in the Welsh countryside? You’ll just have to listen on to find out…

I hope you enjoy listening to our conversation…

Listeners, you can contact Chelsea through her social media channels. She’s @LovingLifeInWelliesYoga on Facebook and @LovingLifeInWellies on Instagram.

Her Savasana Sounds is music by Fred Westera who can be found on Spotify so be sure to check him out and let Chelsea know what you think!
