25. Designing a Space and a Life with Purpose and Intention: Faith Blakeney

from LIBERTY ROAD with Nada Jones · host LIBERTY ROAD

Faith Blakeney is a designer, stylist, and mother. As a child, she spent countless hours in her Berkeley, California home redecorating her room, dressing up, and dancing in the mirror. She studied architecture at UC Berkeley, designed costumes for the local theater, and immersed herself in all things old and beautiful at the local auction house where she worked. After fifteen years of studying and working in France, Italy, and New York, Faith launched her design studio in 2010. Today, she brings passion, purpose, and play to her clients, whether dressing them for the red carpet or designing their dream spaces in LA, NY, and beyond.   In this episode, Nada sits down with Faith to retrace her incredible journey from living in Italy to understanding firsthand what Dolce Vida means. Her dream of taking a leap into interior design was confirmed one day when she earned her first client while chatting up a guest at a wedding reception. The two laugh and tear up as Faith conveys her passion for creating spaces for others to feel at home and to give back something more than “decor”. She discusses how her upbringing impacted her perspective and purpose to create beauty on this planet.   Faith suggests you read: Calling in "The One" by Katherine Woodward Thomas. And Nada says the Botton Bunk article Faith referenced, “How This Guy Went From A Bottom Bunk in Jail to Top of A Melrose Sneaker House” is a must-read.    Check out Faith Blakeney’s website.
