25 Years after 9/11 : Financial Markets, Firm Resilience, and New York's Recovery

To mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, the Robert Zicklin Center for Corporate Integrity at Baruch College invites you to a special panel discussion exploring how Wall Street, individual firms, and New York City’s financial infrastructure recovered and rebuilt in the aftermath of tragedy. When the World Trade Center fell, the physical and emotional core of the financial community was disrupted overnight. Yet, through adaptability, collective resilience, and institutional support, business resumed, and many firms devastated on that day were able to get back on their feet despite the unbearable losses. Join RZCCI as we welcome three executives, Dan Chung, Jeff Bauml, and David Krell, who showed extraordinary personal and professional fortitude and resourcefulness in the wake of the attacks. They will reflect on the following topics: - The immediate human, operational and ethical challenges facing financial firms in the days and months after 9/11. - How institutions, including Baruch College, stepped up to provide crucial infrastructure, space, and continuity for displaced trading groups. - The evolution of risk management, firm culture, and crisis leadership over the past quarter-century. - Lasting lessons for corporate integrity and disaster readiness in today’s modern financial markets.
