#250: Mark 3-4 | He is beside himself

from The Bible in Fewer Words · host Carole and Steve Wells

Jesus continues to cast out devils, and is accused of doing so through the power of the devil. He responds by saying that whoever blasphemes against the holy spirit will never be forgiven. His family is concerned about him, saying that he is beside himself. When Jesus is told that his mother and brothers would like to speak to him, he says, "Who is my mother, and who are my brothers?" When his disciples ask him to explain one of his parables, Jesus explains why he speaks in parables - so that the people won't understand and be converted, so he won't have to heal them.
