Hello. Welcome to Jenni's Pika Pika Japanese. This weekend is the Tenjin Festival at Osaka Temmangu Shrine, one of the three major festivals in Japan. This year, due to the corona infection, the boat procession and the votive fireworks will be cancelled and only the land procession will take place. One of the most famous Tenjin Matsuri events is the Tenjin Matsuri Women's Mikoshi, a portable shrine carried only by women, which has spread and become popular as the Gal Mikoshi since 1981, when the first parade of portable shrines was carried only by women.
