畫說漢字/圖解《說文解字》/1000個漢字的故事/東漢許慎暴（bào）“暴”是个会意字，是“曝”的本字，本义也就是晒。小篆的“暴”，字形上部是“日”，中间是“出”，表示太阳正在从东方升起，下方的左右两侧各是一个“手”形，“手”形的中间是“米”，合在一起的意思就是用双手将谷物捧到太阳底下进行晾晒。“暴”后引申为暴露。如用作形容词，意思则是“又猛又急的”，如“暴风雨来势猛烈，自然界幼小的植物不堪一击”。（手里捧着米粒，在暴烈的阳光下曝晒。）
