Bula, Ma’lelei, Talofa and Welcome to Season 06 Episode 80 of Breakfast Bites, by TeivovoSports.com – a wrap of Pasifika people’s sports news, on a bright and sunny Tuesday 26 September 2023.Coming to you with tons of hanisi from the 180th meridian in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. At the Rugby World Cup 2023: While Fiji is a big chance to make the quarter-finals, Samoa must beat Japan next to stay alive for a chance at making it too, and hope that the South American rivalry will boost rugby minnows Chile against powerhouse Argentina.Meanwhile, Ben Tameifuna’s Tongan team is doing it tough in the Pool of Death. After tough losses against Ireland and Scotland, where No. 8 Vaea Fifita had his yellow card upgraded to a red, they play the South Africans next Monday morning. In Rugby League: Debate is raging over whether the Bunker should be allowed to intervene for blatant forward passes following a howler in the preliminary final where Reece Walsh threw an obvious forward pass to Selwyn Cobbo but it was missed by the on-field officials. The Bunker cannot rule on forward passes because they are considered too subjective, but the NRL is now considering changing that rule for next season. And in Football: Marcus Rashford crashed his £700,000 Black Badge Wraith Rolls-Royce near Manchester United’s Carrington base after his team’s 1-0 win at Burnley. Not to worry fans, Rashford owns three Rolls-Royces – the one involved in the crash, a £390,000 Black Badge Cullinan and a £560,000 Cullinan Blue Shadow.Meanwhile in the laid back city of Amsterdam, Ajax fans went bananas after bitter rivals, Feyenoord had taken a 3-0 first-half lead at the Johan Cruyff Arena, sparking ugly scenes from the hardcore supporters of Ajax, who lobbed flares onto the pitch, forcing the game to be abandoned on Sunday. The unrest spilt out of the stadium, as furious Ajax fans smashed into the main entrance, prompting riot police on horseback to fire tear gas to disperse the crowd. In SportsBiz: Last weekend’s Berlin marathon saw Ethiopia’s Tigist Assefa shatter the women’s world record set in 2019 - by more than two minutes to finish in 2hr 11 min 53 seconds. The Ethiopian caught the eye not only for her startling performance and finish time but also for the shoes she was sporting, which made their debut on Sunday. The Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 - soon to be released to the general public - will retail for around £400 and are reportedly only designed to last for one race.At just 138 grams, the ADIDAS shoe comes with a new foam design with a 39mm heel and a first-of-its-kind rocker at the front of the shoe which propels the runner forward at even greater speed while expending less energy. The only downside to the shoe’s mainstream appeal is that it is only meant to last for one race.In Combat sports: Fading Kiwi-Nigerian UFC star, Israel Adesanya, pleaded guilty to drink driving at Auckland District Court yesterday morning, in relation to an incident on 19 August – three weeks before his UFC championship fight in Sydney, against American challenger and now champion, Sean Strickland.Check this out, Adesanya’s blood test result on the night was 87mls of alcohol per 100mls of blood – what???And that’s a wrap! For TeivovoSports.com I’m Culden Kamea – please hit the like and subscribe buttons below if you want to receive more Pasifika sports highlights on Breakfast Bites.Mahalo, Kakite and tank you all too mas for all your love and support.#TEIVOVORugby #TEIVOVODigital #TeivovoRugby #TeivovoDigital #rugby #rugby7s #FijiRugby #rugbyunion #rugbyleague #Raka #team #rugbytraining #sports #FRU #Fiji #womensrugby #rugbygirls #wrugby #ladiesrugby #womeninsport #woman #rugby #rugby7s #FijiRugby #rugbyunion #rugbyleague #fitness #weightlifting #training #team #rugbytraining #sports #rakavi #DevelopmentFiji
