26.4: Jesus in Numbers Part 2: Staying Pure and Faithful in the Presence of God

Have you ever been telling a story from your  past and then remembered something pertinent and had to say, “Oh, I  forgot about this”, or “this is important”? That’s what’s happening  here. Moses is writing this as a memoir. He’s dictating to a scribe.  Back then, there was no inserting pages in a book already written. God  wants Moses to explain everything and not leave anything out. All these  are the laws Hebrew generations were to follow until the Messiah came. And, yes, they are still at Sinai. Still prepping for the big move.  That starts in tomorrow’s story. Today, we’re making sure everything  that’s to come before God is pure and holy, like He is Holy. These rituals are tiring. Which is why, again, I am glad that Jesus became our last and final sacrifice so we can be holy like He is Holy. Let’s dig in…. Jesus said, “Anyone with ears to hear must listen to the Spirit and understand what he is saying to the churches.” ~ Revelation 3:22 NLT - This phrase is repeated 14 times in scripture. Kind of gives the idea that God wants us to pay attention. If you want to reap all the benefits of salvation including the 1-way, non-stop ticket to Heaven then… Believe. Repent. Be Baptized. Receive the Holy Spirit. Pray this prayer humbly and wholeheartedly… “Dear Lord Jesus, I know I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins. Please forgive me. Right now, I turn from my sins and open the door of my heart and my life to you. I confess You as my personal Lord and Savior. I surrender my whole life to you and I will follow you for the rest of my life. Thank You, Jesus, for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.” Jesus didn’t die so we could have religion!
