Episode Description
Hello and welcome to Episode 26 of That Yoga Woman’s Podcast. A podcast where yogis, yoga teachers and studio owners share stories of their lives on and off the mat.
I’m Jules Buchanan, a yoga teacher and your host.
So, episode 26! I just want to say before I introduce this my guest that that’s a year of podcasting!Thank you so much to all of my interviewees and of course to you guys for listening. If you enjoy the podcast, please can you take a moment to rate it, write a review and subscribe (if you listen through Apple or Spotify etc) as this really helps other people find my podcast and gives me a warm and fuzzy glow as well. So - thank you’s done - let’s crack on with the episode!
This week I’m talking to Kelly Hopkinson.
Kelly is based in Milton Keynes and says she’s many things to many people, which is, I think, something a lot of us can relate to. If we rewind, travelling took up much of Kelly’s 20’s so we’ll find out more about what that entailed.
She then jumped heart first into being a primary school teacher so I’ll be asking her what that life was like and how that career path was for her. Becoming a single, working mum of 2 girls wasn’t part of the plan, yet it became one of her life defining moments so I’ll definitely be asking her more about that and the impact that this has had on her.
Kelly is a now a yoga and mindfulness teacher, establishing the Be:Well Club which is a monthly membership of weekly yoga classes, on demand content and wellness tools to make life a little easier.
I also want to talk to Kelly about her public speaking, after she did a TedxTalk in 2018 on self-care which has racked almost 114k views on YouTube! Pretty awesome.
A chat with Kelly wouldn’t be complete without asking about her friendship and kind of almost sisterhood with Christine Blair (from Episode 6 of this podcast). They’ve got such support for each other, championing each other and working together - it really is an inspiration.
Oh, and Kelly is also owner to one of the cutest kittens in the world, Dave, so I’ll be asking her to share some of his antics with her as he’s been featuring of her online yoga classes for her students!
I really hope you enjoy listening to our conversation…
