#26 - Rachel Farrell on from swimming only to Half Ironman World Championships in Nice and more

from Any Given Runday · host Any Given Runday

We continue the "Lawless Files" as Eric interviews Rachel Farrell on her journey from meeting Eric at Lifesaving in college to trying out triathlons and leading up to the Half Ironman World Championships in Nice and more. Rachel talks about how, when she had met Eric in college, she never ran or did any cycling. She tried her first triathlon a few years ago in Athone and fell in love with the sport. From there, Rachel joined a triathlon club and, despite her main goal being to lose weight, she signed up for an Olympic distance triathlon and felt like she was going to get sick at the end of it. Rachel decided to sign up for a half Ironman to help her motivation to train over the winter months. She finished second in her age category and was told that she qualified for the World Championships! She didn't even know what that was or that she could qualify in that race! From there, Rachel takes us through what it was like to compete in the World Championships, her triathlons in Ireland and why she had to the half Ironman over here again, how she views her training as a lifestyle now, the support she has gotten and a message to everyone in our running group pushing themselves for a 5k Challenge! Once you listen to Rachel's episode, you're going to be motivated to push yourself with your own goals. And while there is no immediate races to sign up to, you can get involved in our Running group where we are building towards a 5k PB (or your first 5k) at the end of June.To get involved, check out this link below:https://www.facebook.com/groups/anygivenrundayAnd be sure to follow us on social media to see everyone's progress:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/anygivenrundayofficial/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/anygivenrundayofficial/#AnyGivenRunday Stay consistent with your training routine using the Ultrapure HYROX Recovery Bundle.
