At least four children were abducted and murdered in a serial killing spree between 1976 and 1977 in the Metro Detroit suburbs of Oakland County, Michigan. Authorities launched the largest homicide task force in United States history at the time. The culprit— or culprits— held the children captive for several days. They groomed, fed, and murdered them before dumping their bodies by public roadsides. The case has gone unsolved for decades, with victims' families desperate for answers. Evidence points to several promising suspects, but since none of the murders have ever been solved, some argue a cover-up is at play.
