Grimthorpe was a peaceful town—until a truck carrying 40,000 bananas lost control and turned the bypass into a potassium-fueled battlefield. Witnesses compared it to D-Day but with bananas, as fruit rained from the sky, stuffing letterboxes, clinging to church spires, and lurking in treetops like sinister yellow bats.
