264. Navigating In-law Relationships and Boundaries with Abby & Amy

from HERself · host Abby and Amy

A few weeks ago we interviewed our husbands with YOUR questions sent in on our Instagram page. What we were not expecting to receive was a lot of questions about navigating in-law relationships! Since so many of you sent in questions on this topic, we thought we’d dedicate an entire episode diving into how our relationships with our in-laws have changed over the years and how we’ve navigated being daughter-in-laws.When it comes to in-laws, everyone has a different story. We’ve seen these relationships go all sorts of directions in our friends’ lives and also in our own. If you’re feeling like your in-law relationship is hard as a parent of young children, you’re not alone. These relationships can be hard! We’ve been there. We’ve learned over the years that in-law relationships are a journey. We understand that today’s episode may not apply to everyone’s situation, and we want to hold space for you if that’s the case. However, if you feel it's appropriate, we hope you find our simple tips about managing expectations and boundaries, communication, and how to deal with the holidays (and more!) helpful and use them to nurture and grow your in-law relationships. Links & Resources:$5 off your first order of GoodrTry LMNT’s chocolate medley pack!Let’s connect!HERSELF PATREON: https://www.patreon.com/herselfpodcastHERSELF INSTAGRAM: http://instagram.com/herselfpodcastMEET AMY: http://instagram.com/ameskieferMEET ABBY: http://instagram.com/abbyrosegreenThis episode was brought to you by the Pivot Ball Change Network.
