27. Metzorah: E Unum Pluribus ~Embracing The Wealth Of Who We Are

from The Jewish Mind · host Rabbi Avrohom Lipszyc

Passover at the Seder Table we eat Three Matzot and we drink Four Cups of Wine. What are the deeper secrets of drinking the Four Cups of Wine? At the Seder we have the children ask the Four Questions. This year, let us do something daring! Let us invite our inner-child to the table, and let us allow our inner-child to express his Four Questions of all that he has been through, his confusion and fears of his abandonment, his confusion of his not being lovable, his confusion of being pushed into being hidden, and his confusion of not being worthy of true joy. Then, let us spend the rest of the Seder with our inner-child apologizing to him or her for our adult’s misunderstanding and confusion between slavery and freedom. Let us embrace our inner-child, and commit to him that we will never again mistake humiliation for humility, and that we will never again mistake joy for arrogance. Most important of all, let us immediately live up to this commitment, and truly be happy at the Seder, thanking G-d for the Pluribus of gifts, talents, and beautiful details that G-d personally hand-crafted into who we each are. In this lecture you will learn exactly how to do this. Here is a link to the notes of this class.
