#27 Rory Mallace - Programming for Crossfit, Nutrition & Is Society Lacking Philosophy

from The Abi Khan Show · host Abi Khan

My guest today is a fellow Brit so you know he’s going to bring the value and that is what he accomplished. My guest today was Rory Mallace. We discussed program design when it comes to designing Crossfit / functional workouts. There’s a lot of misconception about what the mainstream media say about functional workouts, it seems as though they just through a few exercises together and call it a workout. Technically that’s true but to optimise results there needs to be more thought to it. We talk about how Crossfit in general seems to lack the scientific evidence to back it’s nutritional approaches, this could lead to a reduction in quality performance. Outside of the elite that is, they could probably adhere to most nutritional methods and still be competitive. Rory has a masters in exercise physiology, a bachelors in biomedical science and is a functional strength / Crossfit coach.
