27. Subtext: The Trouble With Kanye

from enough. · host enough. LLC

In this episode of subtext, we discuss a man who has been dominating the 24 hr news cycle for the last month, Kanye West. While his anti-semetic comments have halted his career, we dive into his problematic and abusive behaviors towards women, specifically his stalking of ex wife Kim Kardashian.  A quick note about the timing of this episode: After several months of planning a subtext episode with Kanye West as the subject, Kendra and I recorded the episode on November 22nd. The next day, Rolling Stone magazine printed a longform expose detailing a years-long pattern of emotional and psychological abuse and inappropriate business practices perpetrated by Kanye. While we were not able to discuss these allegations during the episode, we feel that it reinforces everything we say and should be taken in tandem with what we discuss. - REFERENCES: Kanye West Used Porn, Bullying, ‘Mind Games’ to Control Staff (Rolling Stone) Kanye West’s Harassment of Kim Kardashian Is Not a Joke (Elle) Kanye West to pay Kim Kardashian $200,000 per month in child support as divorce settled (BBC News) Exclusive: Kanye West has a disturbing history of admiring Hitler, sources tell CNN (CNN) Kanye West Vs.
