And now coming at ya from Yellowknife Canada from one of our living rooms, we're talking movies and sometimes TV shows with spoilers included folks Is it is? I'm chair to use wait is that is that based off like the armchair quarterback of saying is that right? Chris we spoke about this for are you sure? Yes?

What's positive though? You wrote the joke. Oh god damn it. All right.

You're right. I'm featuring Chris got it and James What guy sorry to message you in five minutes I dare you Text message and drive but not at the same time. Yeah, sit me down. Give me a touch for free.

Just free. Welcome back folks I gotta get to it great. We're back for our two reviews folks. My name is Chris and I'm James and this week Yes, this week we're talking the conclusion the quote unquote epic my question mark in there part three of the maze runner series Yeah, the death cure again with the question again with the question Chris I don't know they left it kind of ambiguous.

You're gonna have to find out later Well, that's it folks We're done for today can find us on Twitter and Instagram Thanks guys. All right, well, we're Okay, people are still listening now after that really long minute. Yeah, we're back up so 27 it is 27. Yeah, um So these movies I was telling James last night.

I think they would have been came out I think 2014 was the first one 2015 right away was the scores trials. Yeah, and then they got the second Yeah, I think that it's just well, obviously the book came out a little late to think the first book came in 2010 So I mean they adapted it pretty quickly to yeah, I didn't waste a whole lot of time That's for sure. However, I think as I tell you this yesterday on the way home I think it would have been more successful as a movie franchise if like the Hunger Games didn't exist at that around that same Around that same time. Yeah, and I I agree.

Yeah, because the first one Yeah, I don't know when it starts to kind of feels similar very similar come up through the ground in a cage instead of their tube elevator It's all like preteen to teenagers all surviving Differences they're all boys. Yeah in this until the girl comes out And they're just like trapped in this big and initially it said to be like oh the government's the enemy Yeah, they they don't miss always any bro What I will admit for this movie and a little bit in the last one too more So actually the ending of last one of the scores trials and this one is the ambiguity of the what who's good? Who's bad? Yeah, other than obviously fucking little finger there Oh Always got that shit eating Motherfuckers up to no good.

I said that to each other. I was like he's literally always up to know he's a total slime ball I think he's been good actor, but yeah, but he's been in the cast always That's all he'll ever play for the rest of his career after game throw It just looks like a fucking douchebag They just want to knock the fuck out all the time and I'm sure he's a sweetheart. I'm sure he's actually a decent guy We don't know well who think of a bad guy that that's probably actually really cool You know what's his name there that the guy that just retired from acting in gangs, New York The guy that's amazing and he was full like I know how can we not think of his name? I can see a terrible terrible people we're gonna look this up way another person that also fits this kind of bill He's not always a villain, but he was in the newest spider-man.

Oh, yeah, Michael Keaton He's probably a beauty in real life. He seems like he'd be a beauty in real life really intense, but yeah He played a day. Oh, they lose that's you were thinking of but yeah I'm just played a badass badass bad guy in the news And he's a tough badass in America's American sass. He's not a bad guy, but he's a super bad ass for real.

Yeah, what she's a bit But that's what speaking of America's choices Speaking of American sassen our main character. We got also the main character American sass. We got Donald Bryan's back Dylan O'Brien is back slightly less jacked. Yes, and American sassen still in good physical conditions Yes, there's a reason why this came out three years after It was supposed to come out 2017 of this around this time actually there was a onset injury like a stunt I guess that happened we just read it up on I heard about it But it was kind of just it kind of fell on the wayside.

We weren't sure if the major I was gonna cancel her still get filmed or just put on the shelf somewhere There's a stunt that went bad and he fucked his head up pretty bad I guess he had a concussion some brain trauma and some sort of fractured facial bone or something Fractures is what I told what we were told our insiders so that's pretty intense I mean you kept working out other products come out at the same time or yeah It was a vehicle collision wasn't it is a two vehicle stunt So trying to think what yeah, it might have been in the tunnel That's only thing I can think of but it was a singular I mean he hit the hit a vehicle and then he wouldn't have been in there though You know I mean like they went to the thing you think that they would have just had the vehicle You know what while they were driving it to crash into the car They might have guys there which would seem silly because they could just have the vehicle on a track hit it and flip So it seems silly they would have him in there But you know you never know like some actors like to do for instance and right away Tom Cruise there for mission But yeah, that could be the only two vehicle collision I'm thinking of yeah It definitely got off track there because it really vetted the filming for a while so again They delayed it over roughly a year probably well, they delayed the release a year Yeah, so I don't know what they had to get back to or whatever so they're probably still filming in 2016 2017 now It's in 2018 I guess because other projects I mean they pump these movies out pretty quick now from the time of the end filming editing producing everything getting it together It is a lot faster even like ten years ago They would stop filming and it was almost a two sometimes a little like two plus year project right to get it done That's true you see that a lot with um I was gonna say super room movies because that's just the easy go-to But for these for these trilogy type things where you saw like the Harry Potter's the maze runners And then you have the Hunger Games and even Lord the Rings like they're pumping them out quick because they film them Yeah, pretty much like within a year Especially have the same cast everything like that You know That's easy that way like a straight narrative. It's no concurrent with each other. That's why they that's why they pump out Kind of helps when they're based on books, you know I mean like all those series they mentioned were yeah, but that way they know what they're gonna do when they start right I think when they start they're part of movies there's only five books, but she knew she was writing two more yeah And yeah, and then three more movies after the but but and so obviously when they start filming the first They were like as long as this doesn't shit the bed We're making seven movies and then turn it to eight because they split up the last one She might as well have been to hit rally might have been just you know dabbing her Golden ink man. I'm going to she's golden tickets.

She's done extremely well Obviously author to be a billionaire. I think so obviously that book series alone before the movies was huge No, huge wasn't initially and then picked up yeah, because you released the first four like band band band the books and then after that yeah, I remember The first book came out actually and I started reading it I was like whatever and then it blew up and then the second one came out and then the third one then the fourth one Then after like somehow I think the movie came out something that exploded it and then they started like coming out like The first movie came out when the fifth book was released because I remember when the first movie came out We went and saw it in school and then as soon as the movie was over I read the first four books like without a good week I guess it's right for rush the first four books and then there was like every book fair that we had That's it Bring your bring your bring your bringings in some you like your mom I need 20 bucks She's like what you're like a bike booked mom. She's like book order. Here's $40 Always want to buy like the stupid shit though.

I came out. He's an extra junk Yeah, everyone did what captain underpants all those I never own where those but I was always like Allure the rings little encyclopedia. I used to have the ring the one ring Outside was just like a gold band, but the inside had the cool stuff cool stuff Reminiscing throwback Wednesday That's fine. Did you read the major books?

No definitely didn't I passed our time We probably this is definitely like probably team action sci-fi dystopian future. Yeah, and what do we say the first book came in 2010? I think so. Yeah, so we're both out of high school and just not give it fuck about reading Not at all.

There's super zero reading on a mind. What is reading? What is the read? What is the reads?

Yeah, so sorry the first the book came on 2009. Okay, so we're close. Anyways the year we are both out of school Doesn't matter James Dashner good for Sam strong first name It's probably not he and the all three movies were directed by the same guy West ball I'm not sure what else he's done, but we're gonna take a look at what he's done. So anyways back to the first movie What's the idea behind the first movie?

They're kind of we get brought into the movie. He's in a elevator box Yeah, they shipped up and pretty much the there's there's people so you don't really know what happened But oh, you know is that the virus that's kind of wiped out the world. Yeah, we don't even know the virus is doing people Yeah, no, it's yeah, not the first one. No, you don't even know that until the very end of that movie Yeah, anyway, it's a dystopian future where there's people that are immune to this virus and people that aren't and what you're they're trying to figure out Is they're trying to get this this nerve toxin or something that they can harvest are these kids?

Yeah, I mean to make this serum that's gonna be potentially become a cure a cure for the non-immune people. That's a general idea Yeah, so these boys just boys at this time brought into What do they call the glade the glade essentially this big square in the center of a maze So these boys are kind of trapped in there. I don't really understand still now why the maze ever opened up for some of the boys to leave I think I was trying to get them, you know, like oh, let's see what's out there and because there are there are survivors of other Mises that you see in the second one. Yeah, I suppose so, but it's just like because that's why the mechanics Yeah, but why take these 40 boys and then stick them in this maze only for what was the last time only for 60% To die if they're running you know, I mean like they have the runners.

Yeah that go out There's four of them they go and come back. What was the last time you saw the first major? The first one I've definitely seen more recently than the second I want to say it's probably been a year at least But it's on Netflix. I've probably stumbled across the film anyways popped it on Yeah, I've been in a while so I'm going all back this by memory.

Yeah second one I saw sort of a snap to like half of it maybe the other day because I knew we were gonna be watching this one Yeah, I kind of jog a little bit the second one definitely gets into More so like why is happening and not necessarily what started all this or what the values can come from or comes from but it's You know, it's actually the second one we were kind of startled when we first saw like it's a lot scarier than I thought it'd be because It was on you guys. Yeah, they were fucking crazy there If you've ever played the game the last of us for PlayStation 3 and the revised version of PS4 And which there's gonna be a new one about coming out soon last of us to which looks dope It's one of my favorite games of all time should call it the second last of us The zombie guys are very very similar because it's like a fungal type bacteria that grows on them Yeah, they kind of just go berserk. Yeah instead of like deteriorating like your typical zombie they kind of grow other shit Yeah, that's the best way to describe is to kind of deform and then grow something out and they also turn It's like rage monsters. Yeah, they're pretty which is cool.

I like They're not just regular zombies. They kind of remind me the zombies from that Brad Pitt movie Really? Yeah, they're fast they're aggressive. Yeah, no, obviously the looks are very different but for the people that might not have seen one or the other They're the way they act and respond is very similar.

That's true. They're like on fucking steroids man They're like oh you say in both Fast for dead flash. Yes, and like and before that movie the only zombies you ever seen really kind of have that little like Well, not walk around 28 days later. Yeah, I mean that again not necessarily zombies more of the rage virus one can argue about it Oh, and you have two dozen fours Which was fantastic movie, but they're not necessarily fast they do run at you, but they're not like super power fast No, no more than like rollers.

I was yeah, they're like all you say both fast and that is just like oh, they'll run at their top speed Oh still person dude. That's still obviously something intimidating, but scary as shit Yeah, yeah, fuck walking dead zombies if that shit actually happens in real life in the world starts to hear you like that. I know you how I don't know Dude not dead it scared me just cuz how quick they were just that's that's you're pretty young when that came out We're both super young yeah, I'll watch it and scare the shit. I don't care.

It's that was one of the very first like DVDs Where I probably like bought on my own how I was able to buy it when I was like 12 13 year old I don't fucking know how Walmart was like yeah, whatever kid. It's all good. No, but yeah, good Holy shit, that we hold up to you by the way. I think it's still good.

They're not afraid by the way that we was not afraid to show zombie baby No, which is what's just so refreshing? But zombie baby. Yeah, that was you know so anyways, I would say actually the our zombies and Zombies are affected people from the maze runner are very similar to the zombies of don't have dead Yeah, don't dead and then combine them with the last of us So for a relating to moving another video game for people who are interested in similar stuff Yeah, it's probably the best and that's based on I wasn't expecting it to be like that because because the first one they don't really see any of them You see mechanical spider creatures and stuff like that, which is also terrifying which is very terrifying But so you're kind of like the fuck is running in fact people. Yeah, you're kind of like then you see in the second one You're like oh shit.

I wasn't expecting that. No. Yeah, it's kind of yeah I remember being like a little bit confused. It's cool.

Okay, this makes sense near more near the end And then how you know like it really is far in the future because all these cities are Torched it's like I am legend level times 50 because they're all the buildings are torched And and it's not around anymore pretty much. They're all dilapidated. You know the desert's blown in It's kind of gone through the streets and yeah, yeah, yeah people It's not like this just happened where it's like boom and the infection has spread super super super fast and you're still like walking around New York I mean, yeah, it's yeah, it literally probably looks like it's probably Let's throw a number out there 10 years later 15 years later 20 years later. Yeah, I'd say probably at least 20 years later Yeah, let's go with 20 years later because well, there's nothing left pretty much But there's like there's still sort of some sort of hierarchy of like a world government existing to try to Harvish secure out of these people who are immune.

Yeah, and that's where this movie. We'll talk about the death here now more specifically Yeah, so they kind of pops up in the third one There they start out and they're trying to They're trying to rescue their friends who've been captured at the end of the second one. Mihau. Mihau.

Mihau Mihau yeah, he they're trying to get him back because he has been taken by wicked who is kind of like the government Look at him and they're gonna use him to because he's immune. Yeah, wicked is trying to use him because he's immune and I guess his Blood or whatever kind of it's some sort of like I think it's the adrenaline adrenal gland or some sort of whatever it is That is producing the serum that they need to be able to make the antidote with they're pretty much like locked into his psyche Yeah, it's scaring the shit out of them producing some sort of I'm gonna say adrenal gland Yeah, that's what it's interesting that to make a form like a small dose of something Yeah, so anyways hit he produces the most of it besides army character Thomas But he produces most of it everyone that they've captured and obviously Thomas and crew know that so they try to go and rescue him But they end up rescuing the wrong train cart cuz they're on a train. That's a really good opening scene. That's a good little nice thing Really good.

I thought it was well done except for the stormtrooper guys. Yeah, those things are just so bad It's like the wicked police force if you want. Yeah, they have like all these automatic rifles and blah blah blah and then there's like these four fucking kids I'm like it's like middle-aged dude stealing this train cart with pistols and these guys are just getting worked Yeah, they can firearms like full gear full assault rifles fighting gates for kids in a middle-aged man with pistols. Yeah, and they can't shoot a single one Terrible we mentioned that kind of like yet stormtroopers, but still really good scene besides the fact that they can't aim good Yeah, and the fact that like there's a lot of things that needed to line up perfectly for that Yeah, I was wondering that during the during towards the end of it when they're infiltrating the city how It must have been during the time of when Dylan O'Brien had his injury where they just used like a body stand and for when he's escorting to recent shit 100% so they can keep going on I bet you that's probably why they made them dress up.

Yeah, probably yeah, just yeah But this is where I like this because it wasn't about to like oh, let's save the world Let's it wasn't about save the world save our world which is our comrades our friends our friends Yeah, they're just worried about the kids that wicked has captured that they're essentially torturing to get this Yeah, you have a camera from what is it the right arm or some shit like that which is like the resistance group Which is led by Barry Pepper's character Vince Yeah, that's yeah, the middle age man Yeah, it's that group who's trying to fight wicked because they think they're doing everything wrong and not letting people live How they can live or whatever yeah, and we can't start it from the angle where like well, we can save the world This is just what we need to do to do it So yeah, so they're gonna see if you manage it so what if we have to torture a few kids yeah to save the world It's basically their thought process and I like that where it's not necessarily black and white There's there's a distinct gray area and a lot of these characters float within them because they're all willing to do certain shit For their own agendas, but it's not necessarily good. It's not necessarily evil either. Yeah, that's your Janssen Unless you're no, that's a thing Janssen is kind of a dick But he's not the one that really runs wicked no no, but he's he's in charge of their little police military security army Whatever you want to refer to them as yeah, he's in charge of that and he's probably the only actual like Technic movie he's the only shed yeah, you know like our Teresa. She was also I think her name was Kaya Something she's the the main female lead in Pirates 5 Yeah, she you know At the end of the story like this fucking bitch But now this one kind of explains a little bit better words what she's her compass is like no This is what I think is right and I do it again.

Yeah, and that's a thing That's what we're kind of getting as wicked isn't necessarily bad They're not seriously guys choose a better name don't fucking name your company wicked for great sex or like WC Yeah, what do you know Rio station? Yeah? They're already sent themselves up to be hated by you know the general But yeah, their point is that they're trying to do the right thing to be able to say from Eddie Mm-hmm granted They're doing it a straight way and they don't have to go yet No, so they're still playing it by your while they torture and potentially kill a few kids You know what I mean? So but they're not too worried about that the grinske things as long as they're able to save a lot of people Whatever like yeah, and in their interests, but so you kind of think about it.

You're like, hmm. It does make sense It's just do it a better way. It's funny how like when they went to that board meeting and be like oh, I don't really think this is You know, this is the best way to spend or finance or something like our expenses or whatever it is like dude Why are you still talking about money right now? The world is falling apart of your fingertips, but They're at that time.

They're barricaded in to the only city. Yeah, where the infection hasn't come yet So those people are super rich and they're probably like we can just live in the city die. He doesn't care He's like 60 something. He's not gonna feel yourself Jesus Christ, that's good living.

Okay. Well, I'm just saying yeah. Yeah, this is like that was kind of I At the same point when the world's not kind of state I No expense To figure out the cure. Yeah I don't know if my expenses are this way.

Yes, she cares outside the walls of your fucking bell bills and going shit Exactly at the same point. I I hate seeing that at the same time like yeah It's still relatable. I can still see that everyone can relate to spending money on stuff, especially when it's not a for sure thing. Yeah, yeah Yeah, I know yeah, I guess this is frustrating because like it definitely is happening.

You know, it's just like yeah Oh, we're this close to curing total annihilation. Yeah, but oh if only that was five dollars instead of ten dollars Yeah, that's an upright string so we can relate that Yeah What do you think of All the action scenes they're good like we said the very first one was decent the opening scene was great. Yeah I thought there are two few in front between the house. Yeah for the length of the movie.

Yeah, fuck an hour or 141 minutes Yeah, so this is like another scenario that we're kind of coming into like 2049 it's no it's kind of the same thing like it's just not enough of action for the length of the movie Yeah, the story like a lot of planning a lot of scheming something bad a lot of scheming a lot of in between running a lot of Well, hey a lot of running, but I almost feel stupid for saying it was too much running. I should expect that fucking movies called me's runner For crazy. He's got damn it. Yeah, yeah Yeah, once it got one's a big time so bad there's some cool bits What do you didn't really like are they threw in now?

They actually like the actor Walton Goggins as the guy that's getting like torn up Oh, yeah, he's a good actor, but he kind of just made him like a crazy He's a lunatic is he's affected right and that can have explained his behavior Yeah, but he's just like you know fuck the government I'm gonna destroy the fuck it and he just destroys the city and himself We're watching this and this move and this scene of ticket if those have seen this movie or will Please see this movie if you're listening this it's so reminiscent of the other rings of two towers when That they send one big all-man that has the the Lancer but they've placed bombs at the bottom of the house. Yeah, he's the one that's charging it He's getting shot at and again while he's getting shot at and he's getting lit up and stuff He's driving this truck this bomb truck at full blast and boom and it treats in the gates. Yeah, the city and just I'll be literate it. Yeah, it's not a small explosion folks.

We're talking about Yeah, like it's messes up the wall and you know some of the buildings or whatever It's a big wall like Donald Trump would love this wall. Don't drop would be like he wouldn't even eat a blue pill to show How excited he was that's about I was getting at it would be pumped I'm saying yeah, he would be yeah, but yeah, but attention Next the two tower scene and it's like shot for shot I don't know just two different words. Just it's just yeah, oh man. It's pretty much a parallel Yeah, we saw him hop up on the truck and like you can tell that's got all this like gas or explosive Yeah, just telling it just to the game.

He's like starting his little speech. We're like here we go That was under use and that whole like that whole faction of these people were like sort of infected but not infected But they're like they're essentially like these people that they're rogues Yeah, they're rogues, but they're like they feel like they're kind of like middle to lower class people. I guess that were just not even middle They're definitely lower. Yeah, that we're just shot down the city when wicked was put up the walls You know what I mean?

Yeah, so yeah, it's like the city outside of the city almost. That's right and Yeah, they're finally they're just like bucket yolo If we're dying you guys are fucking dying too. Yeah, essentially. Yeah, yeah, so For this one I felt like everything that you like Obviously hadn't seen in a while or first one So the second one in like well in preparation to watch this Yeah, everything that I thought was gonna happen like if you just thought like what's gonna happen to death here and go okay?

That's exactly what I expected after so yeah, it was it was very very predictable very beautiful There are no twists and turns anything that you thought was gonna be a twist and turn now. They're just like me Yeah, especially ending you're like oh no the helicopter Oh, we're everything's falling apart. We're gonna die Teresa and Dylan a Brian whatever Thomas and we can't get it any closer Oh Okay, we got closer There wasn't much Invested in this there's no tension in the final showdown Especially when like the only thing we kind of maybe care about is nuke dying and even then do we really care the new guys Does new even have an accent the first movie? I don't think so.

I just feel like it's really like in your face this movie compared to the first Well, he has a big a role in this movie not to this is true. Yeah, but I'm good getting smaller Yeah, it just seems like super thick and I'm like Good job for what they have you know like that But just it just hits like the same stereotypical beats You know we're like they're getting shot at and Thomas save streets like trees watch out get out of the way And then like two seconds later you realize oh he got shot by trying like savers like that Yeah, I feel over and then they go into that room you see zombies locked up like okay Well, well that they're gonna let those guys out. Yeah, there's obviously gonna go and they're gonna kill They're gonna kill the killer back guys. Yeah, they killed a bad guy.

Yeah, it's challenging It's like the little foresight foreshadowing stuff that they try to do it's you can see it a mile away Yeah, it's like the foreshadowing is not working. It's just guiding you exactly what's good foreshadow should be like nice little subtle hints Not just be not an attention bullshit. Yeah, it should be something like let's use your the infected people for example They show that room an hour earlier in the movie they show you that there's infected people in there Yeah, don't show it to me two seconds before they are coming out to kill it good point. That's right Yeah, I mean let's write them in something happen that breaks the glass and then they just come out and Instead of show me now earlier show me half an hour earlier show me five minutes earlier type They're there really like hey everybody there's still here.

They're coming. Yeah, you didn't have to do that one time an hour earlier When they were actually doing something important in the room. Yeah, it's good. Yeah, just little things about he's off the gas a little bit You know, yeah, and just something that's gonna be crazy man.

That's gonna be crazy crazy Kill someone that just you know kill. So let you care about kill that other girl Brenda Brenda. Yeah, sorry Brenda Kill you But nor kill the kill Brenda's sugar daddy. Oh, Jean-Cargo.

That's Bizzito. Yeah, he's a breaking bat. He is Yeah, what's his name? It's funny every time he said Hermano Hermano Pull yos Hermanos Boyos Second Brothers Yeah, who else Hermanos the chicken brothers I think it's all over.

He looks so different actually, but he's good actor The more for me. Yeah, but kill him kill someone you know he still had a small role that he didn't give a shit I guess it's hard because there's very much Tommy's kill me know Oh, yeah, I think you need to get him. Yeah, but then they're about to rescue him I just fucking put a bullet inside or something. No, I don't fucking go.

Oh, I don't get it I mean like I think they think by killing Teresa and new But really do we like Teresa? No Over at the end of the second movie and obviously we understand why and that you know she means well We don't care if you mean well You did it What do you think about the any of this cuz again? I like the ambiguity where they're like oh, you know what? We're all fucked anyway.

This disease air is airborne. We can't do anything. Yeah, so yeah the city was super cocky Like wicked they're like nothing knows and then they're kind of like oh shit the disease is airborne There's nothing we can do except for find a cure right now and they're like last ditch effort didn't really work No, it just didn't work so at that point there's like bucket and then the crew The city decided to fuck shit up worse and then at that point time is just chaos is this chaos again again typical so Yeah, I don't know. I like how you know after you know the city obviously gets fucked really quick by the way Oh my God, it's fast leveled really fast I really like like I don't know if there's I wish there's a way to really see because they only show you part of the City of that city, you know, yeah, it's all really yeah It is all ruins but you like what I'm saying is you don't really see how many people there are especially compared to how many people are in the City never really show you how big the city is you see some like the street shots of like the people running so that was just cool Yeah, but I like how the end of the day does happen really fast.

Yeah, it's really really quick. It's very quick fast But I like at the end of the day where They eventually you know they take that boat and they just fuck off to an album. Yeah You know and so two hours later, but that's it get them saving the world they save their world Everything else everywhere else guess what they're still infected everywhere So these are the the immune group the immune group just want to move on. Yep, and they did and that's it Are they gonna solve it?

Who knows they leave a clear finger? That's it. That's all done Yeah, now we did say how this movie was really long this could easily have been split into two and done a hundred games It could have been yeah, so here's two options one They could have taken what they did and just Like 40 30 minutes would have been good an hour 40 an hour 50 minutes. Yeah, it's a good length for this type of movie Obviously our 40 hour 40.

Yeah, or splitting it into two movies and they could have done it Yeah Two one and a half one 40 minutes and Gone deeper and everything and toss this twist, you know They could have let us somewhere If they did a part one let you somewhere at the end like no And then you start the second movie and then you're like, okay, fine I've got a big twist at the end of part one. Yeah, well, they did that kind of a scorch trials with a big twist me like Oh trees is a bitch. Yeah, but I'm saying just yeah, yes in particular They were split it into two parts they could have they could have easily done that to make more money They could have but they also would have had to spend that money to some more money to make more money Yeah They could have this is where I would have done it like their whole infiltrating like the first movie lead off from score trials right into them Infiltrating the city they just get into the city like the new city Yeah, and then leave right there and then everything in the second movie is within the walls and then wrapping it up Yeah, I think that's how I would have done it. Yeah, if I were to do split into I'm thankful that it didn't because now You know, it's it's done over with we're not worry about anymore Yeah, but I think that it would have been more room for growth for these some of these characters and have a little more consequence in each of these movies, but then again, you know, it would have been seen as just another money graph Everything so I'm happy they did it But at the same time it might have affected some of the something overall storytelling, but whatever yeah, it's hard to say Because neither of us have read the books.

That's true So we don't really know what happens in the book compared to the movie whereas these other series were familiar with the books, right? So we can say you should have spotted up or it's good that this way Whatever the screen play on just do it But yeah, I mean it's yeah, I think our main it's not a terrible movie. No, it's just it's just fairly average Yeah, it's fairly average. It's predictable is our main knock on it.

Yeah, there's nothing wrong with the it's just a classic like like It's definitely on par with our games like yeah, it's the first one is really good Yeah, and then it's fine. Yeah, and then it's like average average You know, I mean it's kind of the same with the first one this one this one definitely one locked everyone in for the rest of the series Definitely. I mean, you know gladiatorial ring with kids. That's cool.

Yeah, and this one this one is like at least there's something on the line You know, I mean like that's what really gets people's there's actual shit in like investing to the movie for the characters where Like oh fuck you could die. Yeah, not exactly and they did yeah Yeah, not you could die like you will die unless you're the one lucky mother fucker. Yeah, exactly So now it's just there's just pretty cool again if this was out maybe just a few years They got just a bit of a head start on your games. It would have been a lot more successful I feel like yeah, it would have been a next level type thing, but we've seen this before yeah even before that It's simple tropes and yeah No, I'm trying to think like it's like you said it's kind of targeted at like that 15 year old Yeah, definitely like kind of a team I even younger get to see it.

I get the shaky thick scared out of them from these zombies. Yeah from the cranks the cranks Well might spook them a little bit, but otherwise so that kind of be You know, they made the money back there probably been like they probably doubled their money It's just came out to like on Friday. I think it was January 26th. I think so yeah, so yeah, so Yeah, they're 26.

We're not even a week into it right now while we're recording The budget was 62 million 62 million. So that's pretty modest budget pretty good and so far Well probably right now probably thinking about 110 million yeah 111 million right now Yeah, so I finished double their money yeah and you know what more can you say you know less than a week So obviously for next little bit and they've definitely curious Well, we're here. You want to pull up the other movies and see what they've done I'm sorry. Let's just pull up the first and see how the first did first first was like the best movie out of the three and the most popular Let's look at it.

We're just gonna pull this up so we can kind of compare how it did cheer you in that But he sure guys got the same rating on you seven out of ten seven out ten So yeah, they're like the well made movies so the budget for this one obviously this one I can see why the budget was small so it's 34 million and still which is a pretty good healthy budget for most movies Yeah, but like and I can see why it's small though and they had a double because they always very contained Yeah, very very contained. It's the first movie Yeah, and the box office that it's made three hundred forty eight million as of this date or however long ago this They did well. Yeah, yeah, they made their money back and they're obviously Same situation for this movie. It's gonna keep going up and mean starting made a third of what it did with the first one Yeah in a week.

Yeah, so it's in a month's time. It'll probably be near that three hundred million mark I think I'd say so that probably pretty accurate. Yeah I Really say about it. I think that's I'm done actually I think I'm done wrapping up.

Yeah, so Check out the second movie here 61 million dollar budget So yeah, it was pretty much the same as this third movie and they made three hundred thirteen million dollars So right around that same amount of money they made so pretty much the same people that went and saw the first one saw the second one And I probably gonna see the third one, you know, everyone wants to finish off the trilogy dude. Yeah, it's yeah, it's the same thing It's like I saw hungry games cool, whatever saw the second one I've seen these movies You're gonna finish now or if you've read the books you're gonna finish them out I think I kept watching the insidious movies. I watch the first one. Okay.

Well, I watch the second one might as well I First one's I was the first worst fucking series of movies that you've watched were serious Yeah, where you watch like the first one and you were like, okay You either really liked it or you didn't or maybe you went with someone who really liked it and you were dating that person They want to see the other ones. Oh, there's something like I gave up. Okay, so I have one example of this where I was forcing a movie Just Twilight The first three toilets Oh, no, so I watched the first two. I don't maybe watch the third one.

I can't remember I thought I thought I think this for maybe five Yeah, I think there's very Fuck I should not know this Twilight new moon eclipse breaking down. Okay. I'll just leave my man card take it all I don't care, but there's actually did not fish it. I could not do it.

Yeah I know one that's a one TV series that I've stuck with because I mean it's gotten bad now They kind of beat the shit out of death pardon the pun, but super natural walking dead walking dead. Yeah Okay, I'm not sure for me when it came out 2005 like I love that shit and the first five seasons were awesome They did And then now they're on like they're supposed to end at five or four seasons and then they were like KLS to attend Got to ten and now we're on season 13 or something like that and I've watched most all I've watched all these episodes They're just milking it. I should not watch this anymore. It's made for fucking small girls man It's ready God These two brother they make so I don't want to get into it, but yeah, it's kind of like the same deal is a walking I think they're on season eight now like the first three seasons were like fucking yeah They're so good first one the first season was only six episodes Yeah, damn above you yeah And then let's say like the fourth and fifth were decent yeah six and seven were pretty shit And now that the current one I think it's the eighth is better It's definitely picked back up to where like the fourth and fifth were didn't ever gonna get to like the first two three seasons again But it's definitely watchable again now whereas like before I still watch it every Sunday, but I was like do I have to But I bet you know you're so glad it's weird Hey, we're creatures have it that way Yeah, we just have to see it through and as the same for Dexter.

I read all the Dexter books fucking first three four All right after that it just got ridiculous absolutely ridiculous storytelling. I read all them the same thing with the show I see one two three four amazing television series if you ended it right then Yeah, then there's some good bits here and there for five and then six and seven was there eight probably an eight fuck Remember you ruin everything just no one's a bad taste in your mouth. Yeah, sure does cuz you sometimes you like these characters You only do so much with them. Just cut it off sometimes.

Yeah, you're just gonna. That's why I like breaking back for our seasons Five seasons done. Okay, I'm pretty sure there's only four. Nope.

Thanks. Five James Thanks for looking it up folks anyhow, but really good length and obviously there was an end to their story Which some of these TV shows they don't really have an end Fuck you. Yes, there's four seasons But they yeah, they finished it and Next they knew they knew that's we need to know we need to know where you're headed and then no one to shut it off You know you have something good. Yeah, even though You know you know you could probably milk a couple more years and a couple more millions of dollars You're the die hero or live long enough to see yourself become a villain.

Yeah, how are you done? Yeah? That's That's it for this week. I'm not sure what's coming up next week.

It's a fast pace the whole movies fast space That was one thing when I really watch it that I was like shit This was a quick hour 40 minutes compared to some of these shit movies we sat in and it's just like the same length But feels like it's just pulling times as long and you watch this even though it's probably Honestly the 15th time I fucking seen the movie.
