Producer Doug here, I just want to talk about pop culture class room. They are the ones that put on Denver Comic Con and we want to help support them so that we can keep bringing you all this amazing audio such as panels and interviews from Denver Comic Con. So let's get right into it. Pop culture classroom inspires a love of learning, increases literacy, celebrates diversity, and builds community through the tools of popular culture and the power of self-expression.
They envision individuals transformed by the educational power of popular culture who create diverse inclusive and engaged communities. They provide quality service to kids and communities, respect inclusive and diversity, quality of opportunity, alternative approaches to education, and they recognize each person's intrinsic dignity and importance through open communication responsibility and honesty. Did I sound like I read that off the website? I absolutely did because, well, I did.
I want to get everything right for them because they are fantastic. I recommend going to the website and donating just to keep them going. This fantastic program plus everything to do for the community, literacy, respect, and of course, Denver Comic Con. So we can bring you all of this stellar guests and panels and Q&A's and interviews.
So remember, go to popcultureclassroom.org, click on the donate or just take a spin around their website and check it out. And now, on with the show. The is for our show called Dr. Who.
We're ready to get all of our words to the next. Who's gracious. Are you guys okay? You're right.
You got a challenge ahead of me because I'm really sassy. I can't see you now, but just pause for a minute, okay? I'm really sassy today. Now look great at the video.
I'm new working, are you? I can't. I'm like a friend. Wait.
Okay. Don't be forgetting the words wrong. And LGBTQ would provide everybody in close enough. So I say that one word.
It's been one two years since I've been here in Denver. I'm the last panel of the day. So you know, be down there, girl. Right?
Good luck with that one. Just for you in about 10 minutes. Recently, I turned 50, right? I don't feel like 50.
Like seven some times. What did you say? Come back, girl. 50 and I don't feel like it.
I think you're as young as you feel inside and I feel like I'm 25 inside. Yeah, you would like to see what you're talking about. I'm showing you. I'm getting more.
Actually, what's really funny is I have my doctor's. Okay, I'm not going to show you bear butt. I'm not going to show you my underpants, okay? Actually, because of the camera, I have my doctor who underpants on it.
There's not going to be another fucking panel like this all weekend. I'm going to turn 50 into my 50th birthday. But when I first started there on that TV cell where I revealed my face and I shook the head and everyone was like, Oh my God, I said to Steve and I went on that thing. I said, you know, Steve, I hope this is going to be a long fruitful relationship.
And I'll be on the show for a little while. And he said, yeah, I said, you know what I'll probably turn 50 when I'm on the show. And he said, if you turn 50, I'll make sure that you have a good birthday party. I said, what do you mean?
He said, well, if you have a birthday, take a cup out of it and go with a speedo. I'm ready for the producer's office. If I knock on the door, I said, you get the back and back and back and back. Birthday, they gave me an offer.
However, I can forgot. My family and they flew people in from all over the place. What happened? I've seen for a long time and my decent nephews have been instructed to take me out that day, so they were taking me quite like it.
You know, quite like it. A.T.D. right? So I've been to this place before.
Now for my 50th birthday, this hair we have right now, the color, it's fake. I am completely white. I still were fox. It's my little face when I sat that home.
Oh my, what is it down there? Anything goes. Right? So see what I love, if you saw the pictures, it was completely shade.
Some people said my head looked really big. Anyway, ugh, people who got that line. I've been to this at quadbike place before. Now we're standing in a semicircle.
My niece is nephews. I'm in the middle near around me. And we're standing there and the guy is over by where our signers aren't. He's actually looking over at me and he's saying, yeah, no, let's go in the quadbike and he goes.
I told the throttle to park, just be very careful because if you go forward, you have to put your brakes on and you roll backwards, don't put your feet down because if you do, you break off your legs, you'll have to call your panty. I looked at it like, oh, you're funny and still cute. And he's looking over at me and he's saying, and if you also pull the throttle too hard, you throw the thing forward, you keep going, you go up the hill, you might flip the front up, you'll be thrown on the back, you hit your head, your head all off, you'll be like, I think so. Oh my, he's good.
He recognized me. I think. And I was just thinking also when you go up the corner and you go to the bench and you throw around the corner because you might, you don't want to throw around the corner because you might just, you don't want to throw around the corner because you might just, you don't want to throw around the corner because you might just, you know something? You look a lot like that guy from TV.
Me, I try to do share with Don't Hear about that guy. I'm great at that. You know, yeah, you do. You look like that guy from the TV except much older.
My niece's and nephews didn't even take a breath and he did this. I'm not through who they got from the TV show with the phone now. You know, Merlin. Yeah.
Me, one moment, sir. Turner, my nephew, he was about 26 years old and pulled him aside, said, Turner, come with me. He said, what's up? I'm gonna say, Turner.
I said, Turner, I'm gonna show him what this old man can do. He's tonight and about two o'clock in the morning. We're gonna come and work and let all the tires out his ATV. So, okay, so the next day in the news, man, in blue dress on security camera, he realizes ATV.
Come on, it went me. I'll pay him enough, he turned to $500 to do it for me. No, I didn't think I did. I was like that.
No, I didn't. Without a great time ATV, I now feel like I'm under $2, now I'm 50 because I've got old man's hair. But I got back from the great time and everybody's dancing and looking to the music and we all know Kelsey who worked, I work with Kelsey, right? We all know Kelsey, right?
We all know Kelsey, right? Kelsey! Have you disappeared? This is Kelsey everybody.
When all of a sudden Kelsey says he'd wanna sit down like I said, what does it actually do? I said, what does it actually do? What does it do right now? The light's in the whole house and I say, can't most of your shit that you're gonna love.
No, I don't even know what I'm talking about, please, girl, just sit down there and don't say where it's right. And as I'm walking, I'm sitting there walking down the long hallway from our master bedroom I can see some candles and I can see you have to see two physiques one of my best friend Keith Jack Who's dressed and he's got well not dressed and he's completely bare chested and then I see next to him another Physique and walking down towards me. I realize that it's both Keith and Stephen about it Don't like me I can't get ready to block the cameras. I'm like you're just not careful on channels alike.
Why are you so excited? She said because I'm 30 supervisor, but she said anybody push-ups on top of each other I'm like that's like amazing. They're doing push-ups. She said you're gonna love me even more I said why would I love you even more?
I took video Now unfortunately I can't show it to you They did the push-ups. We got themselves all pumped up. They wrote something on their chests and my friend Keith unfortunately is dyslexic, right? So he went backwards and instead of saying JB it said BJ It throws my mom in taxes.
How many people actually really like me? It also throws me but if I say hello Denver and then I do the moves going until I stop filming when you do that for me I don't know if I put this on the social media I Want you to see all of me I believe that you be yourself you be proud of no matter what your shape and size isn't you own it Oh, I'm in the jacuzzi and I'm on FaceTime live, okay, and I'll give them hey everybody's job here I just want to tell you all that I'm doing great and you know filming this last time so it's very I'm gonna do that and almost like behind a hair Hey No big deal, what's the problem? No, who cares? Well Facebook a lot the Russians into our Facebook.
They won't let you see a lot of arena I like She didn't be five seconds Over there from the on up to move forward a little my father lost her in the kitchen He's making cute sandwiches and sandwiches coming off the cross the very English family to get my picture And I'm sitting with Sheila I'm having tea and she was says Surely walks out with a plate of cucumber Samson says I don't know why he showed apparently he's my father I'm very diverse For those videos because I sometimes still do the Facebook in mind in the jacuzzi, but I'm all I've always got stuff I'm looking out over my shoulder. Yeah, but you guys always when you're on there with me going to my son So Here no, what do we do you better be fast girl So where if you raise your hands don't take ages Can't we just get them under the eye or is it a fire room? Oh? Fireroom, okay, well, don't just if you've got a microphone start finding people is it just one person of the mind?
Okay, we're on my people right hand no I'm trying to be with the microphone right so your job on a question is going on people put your hands out the one keeping so If I get as many as possible microphone people pick people get to them and I get them so they follow on the next question You got it all right? You got instructed by Grace it is great friend here. Does he buy? Is he happy?
Good? I'm not crying anymore Awesome, I was gonna say hi Grace, but I don't want to find him Grace, you want to say hi to the funny man? Watch this? I'm gonna go over this like so crazy himself.
I'll be Mr. Cameron man. Mommy there still there Very hard to figure out right now, but you know what that means. I'll stand up and scream great.
Come on. Yes Okay, so just a fun story. I like my stories Yes Okay, sorry Okay Right my parents were there Scott was there and I do these every so often in different cities just do something special in the evening for other fans So what? Also, it takes a lot of time to play.
It's not like you know Just put on a pair of niggas or take them off So read this room with the audience is here and I'm a stage here So you're the audience stage here, but this picture this is being a big glass window But there was a hotel up next through outside across the street and all the windows They're open you can see right in the rooms and there was this lady getting dressed in front of the window Two years ago, right? So what I do I turned it on the circle When she sees you because she said that we'll drive your hair My mind It's just incredible she probably called the police with all of us didn't care. Did we we were celebrating her beautiful this People because I like to take deep I Take these Jack Who is called Harris and we have a little 57 mix and her name is Dixie and Dixie is spicy and fun and Jack is also good And you know very strong will jack look it up in the morning, but I can't make coffee because here's here's Scott I'm working routine, okay, we all are goes off or I wake up. I generally we know it's got I go I do this just to make sure seriously It's pretty serious still breathing and he goes and then he turns over like this he means up to me goes We've been together for 25 years, okay Your partner's life No other Like The line goes up on the window in our bedroom and we got a great view of the mountain and palm Springs I think I want to make coffee Harris will come out I get retreat Dixie comes out I give her a treat first thing in the morning Jack takes his ball goes out the dog door goes to the swimming pool sits on top of The fountain is off the pool throws ball in just in for morning swimming Not any swims around the pool playing with this ball And the eventually then you'll come in for history by that time.
I've made Scott's coffee I go back into the room. I put the coffee down by the table and I go warning And I don't have my hour by myself to sit to think and figure out what I'm gonna do for the day What I have to do so that's how the morning with the dog to great. Thank you for asking next question How did I get to parts from dogs right? Okay, yes Okay, so question should be ready because it's too much go ahead.
I fell out with you on the producers So I was wondering if it'd be possible to get like a little tune or maybe a Saturday To sing for you in the last ten minutes Next question, where are we going over here? Yes? First of all you should know is that not only do I go to the cons and the Kelsey comes with me to look after me At least comes and has not for the last what six years But Kelsey and I started our company and it's called entertainment 13 We have well over 30 actors and people from TV shows numerous different shows like arrow black lightning Because I feel like you some other drag of all people We have loads of people so what we try to do now because I learned and you've helped me know what you kind of want And Kelsey knows what you put the promoters on so we're building up a nice group of people that we can then put all the people you want It cons all over the place Check out our roster to have a look at you what are going on other cons tell the motors who you'd like to see from our roster We can try to make it happen, but I choose cons based on How much people like me? Also, I like going places where it is new and if I can integrate a city that I've never been to before I will then try to go to that unlike for instance But part of me had the hurricane they'd ask you to go to Puerto Rico and everyone's like oh, we're not going to Puerto Rico Like you know what?
I'm going to Puerto Rico because I'm gonna bring people through the door. I'm just gonna help their economy Which is gonna bring them back on their feet I tell you this if you ever have to go to Puerto Rico, you should go It's the most amazing place and the people like our people like from here They're friendly, they're more inviting and they really want you to visit their territory which I think should be state Thank you sweetheart, you get paid sweet, the defenses are good, yes, okay Hello, hi, first of all thank you for saying that about Puerto Rico You're welcome. Really important that we get support there My question is sort of the two part. One, are you going to participate in different pride?
And two, one, if not, regardless, what is your favorite pride activity? I unfortunately, well, fortunately for you guys, I'm here for you So my time is spent here at the con doing things like for instance after we're done here I'm going back down the table on our side until there's nobody left, you know, so it's that kind of thing I'm usually quite tired by the evening So I don't think I'm gonna be going out anywhere because it's also too busy because also when I go and I don't listen I'm not, I love what I do and I love my own but sometimes when I go out I can pry, it's all this I'm like, I just want to get drunk like everybody else I'm just gonna get drunk like everybody else I'm just gonna get drunk like everybody else I'm just gonna get drunk like everybody else I'm just gonna get drunk like everybody else I don't think it's really won't go, but I could miss, I think I've been in a couple cities where there's been pride while I've been doing the con but I missed pride in a couple other cities because I've been away doing the con so I've got a lot of pride going up inside of me so you never know, you never know, you might see me out of town but I won't look like me I might be wearing something else I'm not saying what it is I'm a means job strap. Anyway, could you imagine? Thank you.
Yeah, next question. Where are we going? Okay. Up here.
Hi. Hi. I'm on the shoe. Thank you.
The custom made. Exactly the big thing. I've sized 13. I don't have 13.
I know. Ready not that big? Great question. This is my daughter, Madison.
I can't see where you are, sweet. Where are you? Up there. Hi.
Hi. So this is my daughter, Madison. It's for birthday. Oh.
And so I wonder if you're going to ask me to think Happy Birthday. Hi. It's not a big question after this. It's going to be somebody's birthday.
I think it's for all the people that I promised her. Okay. If I could get Captain Jack to save that I will. Welcome to Saint.
Yes. Here we go. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you.
Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. And many more. There we go.
There's a lot of people over there. What about these sections in here? We're going to read this section in here. Let's get people from this.
I'm actually going to call up. You want to stand up? Yes. Go ahead.
Hi. I'm with you. You gave her a heads up on two years. What do you mean pranks?
What show are you talking about? Anyone I want? Anyone I want? Someone I want.
You've heard the ones from Arrow. Well, I heard that you've heard. Did you hear that one? No.
So what do you see? Can I step with the job on Arrow? I said to the producers. Because as I went there, saying, you know, do you want to be part of the show?
It's going to be great. You're going to build a world. And we're going to create this whole thing of Arrow. The Arrow.
The Arrow. The Arrow. The Arrow. The first of like, yeah, why not doing it.
I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. And they're like, who do you think you're going to say no? Would you be interested? I guess.
One condition. I want to see with Stephen L with him having a shirt off. And they did. He was hanging in a warehouse by chains.
And when we started doing it, he couldn't get himself down. So we had to lock himself up, right? He was there the whole time. And I had to circle around.
So I think you're hanging in the middle. They're not circling around. It's not the world, but not dressed like this. And I met my suit up circling around.
I was saying things like Oliver. If when you do this above the block. I told the camera guy, I said, and I'm done speaking. When I hit my mark at the end and I walk away, because the camera's supposed to follow me out, I said, don't stop rolling, okay?
We didn't tell Stephen. So I'm doing the dialogue and circling around saying Oliver, and if you do this, I'm going to have to find your number. I have to kill you and your little team. The little team that you think is one.
I don't know what that was, but I think you're not. Then I talk to him and talk to him and talk to him and I turn. I turn. I say, or I will have to kill you.
And I turn to walk away and then I go. I'm like, wait these minutes. Oh my God. She got poisoned and a rose in my heart.
Love those moments. Right there, that lady standing up in the red. I'm going to go to you, scream it out. Wait, hold on a second.
Can I get down? What? I'm going to do all the questions. Hi.
What's your name? Ava Kay. Where are you from? I'm from Alaska.
How old are you? 19. 19. Well, I'm going to have fun.
Let's go to a question on this side. Go to a question there? Yes, I'm going to go ahead. So, parallel, yes, from the universe, we're Malcolm Merlin and Captain Jack Mark and his feet each other.
What did they say? In a parallel universe. Okay, so here's the thing. Malcolm Merlin.
Hello. How are you? Good. So, Malcolm Merlin, not the world that walks out to Captain Jack, let him crap out of him.
Jack lets him do it because Jack is kind of liking him. Jack gets to the point of death. Jack does. Jack comes back to life.
Wait, stop, grab, burly, picks up. Gives up to him. Jack wins. I've thought about that ever.
Let's go to this question here. Yes. Okay, so this is my question for you now. Bring out my cousin, gay.
Clear, but yes. Clear. You're going to pride by your answer to that. So now I'm wondering what you go to pride with me.
Oh. Sweet. Well, I would love to take over the offer, but I don't know as of yet what I'm going to be doing tonight. Okay?
Where are you going? It's all weekend, but there is the parade tomorrow. I don't think I'll be at the parade. And there's also what if it weren't here?
Okay, now if I go to a break, we club all these people are going to show you. First of all, congratulations on being out. Okay. All right.
And how does everybody win? Your family, everything? Okay, well, you know what? You know what?
No, no. By the time Tom sees what I was saying to people, whether in that transition period, okay, because you take control of the situation and make the decision when you are going to do it, don't allow them to find out in a way that you have to explain yourself, because you don't have to explain yourself. So, you know, it's a couple of times, 25. Okay, you're old enough, all right?
And no one of the workplaces are going to care, none of your friends are going to care, and one thing you have to learn and think about, and I know you probably love your family, because I love mine. I'm fortunate that my family came along the journey with me. But someone like yourself, you have to make the decision. Are you going to live your life for yourself or for your family members?
So, you have to, when you come out to them, make the choice. Tell them you put yourself in control. I'm going to have this wonderful life. I'm queer.
I want you to be with me on it. And if you're not, I'm quite happy to walk out the door. Let me know how it goes. But don't walk out the door unless you have something like this.
You know. All right? Yes. Desperate there over.
What's going on? I've got seven minutes. Quick question. Go on.
Just ask me. I'm going to say, I love, I love, I don't want to hear them. Very first in your video, I saw it. I know what I am.
Well, hold your breath because you're going to see something in a second. All right. Stop. Oh my God, these are very big steps.
How are you? Oh, you got them tattooed. Quick conversation. Quick, you got to see this.
So, hey, I did this, uh, uh, uh, uh, came up with even lipstick yesterday. Hey, oh, this is not glamorous at all. So, I just give it lipstick. Put it on a lipstick.
And then this young lady asked me to piece of paper instead of kiss her arm. She had like this tattooed her arm. She turned her arm. So, I love that.
Thank you for showing me. So, um, you go down that, okay? I know what you want. Two stops for you.
That's okay. It's not, um, eight minutes past your color. It hasn't. Yeah.
Congratulations. Um, there's a lot of places to have it. It hasn't. And when you pass to California, it's got like, we're married and, uh, had our school partnership in the UK.
But we also, um, had to get married in California. When California passed the fall, my sister called, and like, was it set up the winter time. It was like five o'clock. Our time was like ten o'clock in the east coast.
And she just streamed down the phone. It's passed. It's legal. So Scott and I made the decision to get up.
Right away in the shower. Throw on shorts on a t-shirt. Get down to the register office and get married. Why?
Because we could. We've been together for twenty-nine years. It was about time. It was respected like everybody else.
So, you can register to the office. And there was a lot of people there. Except eighties, you're eighties old, okay? And it was very easy to get in front of the lights there.
We'll do it like this. And we're like, So, we got married first. However, uh, the man behind us he said to us, he said, um, do you guys mind if you, uh, you can witness for quite a few of us? Because none of our families are alive.
And we don't have any witnesses. And we know who you are, Mr. Barrow. And would you give us an honor of witnessing?
Our marriage is, and I said to Scott, honey, it's going to be a long day. So we stood there and witnessed the marriage. And what touched me the most? And the fact that most of the work over the age of sixty-five, seventy years old.
And at the end of the whole ceremony, one gentleman came up to us and he said, thank you very much, Mr. Barrower, for doing that. He said, I'm 84 years old. And he said, never did I think in my lifetime, would I ever be able to celebrate the love I have for my partner Tony.
It was seventy-eight. I never thought in my lifetime I would see this day. And this is the happiest day of my life. And I'm glad you were a part of it.
So I recorded this song that nobody should ever tell you who you can love, how you should love, and if it takes you a thousand years to find that person, then it takes you that long, but you will eventually find what it's called a thousand years.
