279 Adam Hopkins for Washoe County Sheriff

In 1990 Hopkins was hired by the Washoe County Sheriff's Office where he attended High Sierra Law Enforcement Academy. In 1993, he was transferred to the Patrol Division of the Washoe County Sheriff's Office where he worked until 1997 as a D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) Officer, G.R.E.A.T. (Gang Resistance Education And Training) Officer and one of the first CLO (Community Liaison Officers). In 1999 Hopkins was promoted to Patrol Sergeant. As a Patrol Sergeant, he ran teams, leading them through new policies and procedures. This position allowed him to instill the compassion and values in others necessary to make our jails and community safer.
