28. Healing The Relationships With Our Parents & Our Childhood Wounds: Reparenting Ourselves

Today’s episode with Kirsi-Marja Hardy, who is a parenting coach, a parent of four adults as well as a grandparent, revolves around what it means to “reparent oneself” and how that can help us to come to terms with any difficult events that may have happened to us in our childhood.  How can we become the adults in the relationship to our parents? We explain how to take charge of these relationships by first processing any trauma that may have occurred and then starting difficult conversations about how we experienced our childhood, in a non-violent way. This framework is pertinent not only to the relationships we have with our parents, but truly, to all relationships, past and present.  We provide a roadmap to taking responsibility in any relationship and explain why we highly recommend doing that — in order to preserve our vital energy and to live from a place of integrity.
