#28 - Priority Foster Care Nebraska

In this episode of What's Up Omaha I sit down with Shawn Riddle, Executive Director of Priority Foster Care Nebraska, and Amanda Stevenson, a Foster Parent and friend. The goal of this discussion was to raise awareness about the system of Foster Care. For a lot of us, myself included, we may not have a vast knowledge of what Foster Care is and what it means to those involved. Aside from Amanda I am not aware of any other friends that I have that are Fosters. Without knowing her I would know even less than I do now. I love this interview because it allowed us to get a glimpse into the world not only from the organizational perspective, but also the family perspective. Though we were able to cover a good amount of content I do know that we probably barely even scratched the surface of this topic. The main takeaway is for people to understand that Foster Care is about reunification of the biological family.
