2827: UN supports South Sudan's Election Committees in preparation for 2026 Polls

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) and the UNDP are supporting the State High Election Committees in preparing for the upcoming elections. Darren Nance, UNMISS Principal Electoral Affairs Officer, tells Radio Miraya that the UN is helping to build the capacity of the country's electoral management bodies to effectively administer the voting process. South Sudan is set to hold its first post-independence election in December 2026. Nance emphasizes that electoral bodies must fully understand the election cycle.
