And yet, without warning, their oxygen levels would plummet. Their stomachs would swell. Strange purple blotches would spread across their skin. And almost every time it happened… one nurse was there. Her name was Lucy Letby. She was quiet. Soft-spoken. Dedicated. The kind of nurse parents trusted with their most vulnerable moments. She volunteered for extra shifts. She comforted grieving families. She made memory boxes for parents who had just lost their children. But behind that image, prosecutors would later argue, was something far darker. Over the course of a year, seven babies would die. Ten more would survive attempted murder
