We have to be intentional about creating our communities and connecting with our colleagues, and often our colleagues also include our former teachers and past students (or current students!). In our technology-heavy world where we are "connecting" with people behind a screen, it can be easy to tear each other down rather than build each other up, especially in the pursuit of a bigger platform.
